En 1924 un mes de diembre, debido a la alta producción se exploto un chorro de 40 metros de altura, que podía incluso observarse en la ciudad de Maracaibo justamente a 45 kilometros este gran derrame durante 9 días no se pudo controlar, por lo que lleno todas las calles y techos de la localidad de lo lugareños, en la actualidad se puede observar este lugar en donde salió petroleo y este tuvo se encuentra presente para transcender en la historia Venezolana del chorro mas grande de petroleo.
