ENG Hello everyone at Hive. Since today in Rome it's rainy and autumnal, I would like to bring back memories of a sunny and spring trip I took a long time ago and that I haven't talked about yet. These photos that I'm going to publish are also unpublished and have never seen the light of day, but I consider them very important for me and my story with my partner, so I would like to share them with all of you. When he told me in May 2023 that he would have to leave to work abroad for many months, I was shocked. We took advantage of this opportunity (more unique than rare, we later discovered, for the Dutch weather) to tour the city far and wide, also taking a boat ride along the famous canals of Amsterdam. The most peculiar thing I noticed though is that herons are everywhere, they are giants, their nests are in the most unlikely places (even in the chimneys of buildings) and they are not afraid of passers-by or of those having picnics in the parks; on the contrary! They come closer because they are curious about the food and hungry. Unfortunately it is a gigantic museum and it would take a really long time to visit it all. Quando a maggio del 2023 mi diede la notizia che sarebbe dovuto partire per lavorare all'estero per tanti mesi, io restai di stucco. Approfittamo di questa occasione (più unica che rara, scoprimmo poi, per il tempo olandese) per girarci la città in lungo e in largo, facendo anche un giro in barca lungo i famosi canali di Amsterdam. La cosa più particolare che ho notato però è che gli aironi sono ovunque, sono giganti, i loro nidi sono nei posti più improbabili (anche nei comignoli degli edifici) e non hanno paura dei passanti o di chi fa picnic nei parchi; anzi! Si avvicinano perché incuriositi dal cibo e affamati. Purtroppo è un museo gigantesco e richiedere veramente tantissimo tempo per visitarlo tutto.
