Hello Hello Community! ✨, I read this book a long time ago but honestly I didn't know how to structure a review about it, it was a reading that I liked but that left me with a strange taste in my mouth 🤣, I mean some things I liked and others I didn't, and I know that's normal in any book, but with this one it was moderately different 🤣, and it is because of that same feeling of not knowing to what extent I can classify it as a good read, that I have postponed several times its review, however today I found the way to give shape to my ideas and finally bring you my opinion about ***Not In Love***🧬💖.

💖 SYNOPSIS 🧬

💖 BIOTECHNOLOGY, EMBARGOES AND FORBIDDEN ATTRACTION 🧬

Although it is already known by those of us who have become fans of Ali Hazelwood, that she always uses the same magic formula in her stories, it was very pleasing to read something that departs a little from that pattern, and this book is definitely very different from what we are used to read from her, for starters it is an erotic romance and also for the first time we have the narration of the male protagonist, which you know I had been begging for books by this author, besides it has other small differences that made it a very interesting read 😌. It is a book that touches on delicate issues such as extreme poverty and food traumas, as well as intellectual property theft, which I feel is where the strength of this reading lies, and is that throughout Ali's different books the inequality of opportunities that women have in the scientific field is always mentioned, and although in this book it is also mentioned, I like that now the role of "villain" is headed by a woman, I think it is a very realistic position, because although men are the ones who lead science and most of the injustices in this field, that does not exclude women from also leading scenes of this type, where *the need to excel* have to resort to dishonesty with their work teams, so highlighting this type of situation in this book, is what is most interesting to read.

I can't deny that this book is quite addictive, I read it when I was in the middle of my Degree Project crisis, and despite the stress that this situation represented for me, it was impossible for me not to devour this reading in just one day, even so I can't deny that I have some mixed feelings with this book, there are elements of it that I love and others that left me wanting. One of them is the main character, because although I find her an intriguing character with a very emotional story that can even touch your heartstrings, she also made me feel too antipathetic 🤷🏻‍♀️, some people say she is a neurodiverse character and the truth is that she feels like one, but there were still moments when her attitude was too much for me, I wanted to shake her many times to make her react, because I found her behaviour quite childish and **very** unempathetic. Now, Eli's character was quite neutral, I feel that Ali tried to make him as real as possible and at the same time make him a memorable character, as her male protagonists usually are, and in my opinion she achieved it in a moderately successful way, the most interesting thing about him in this reading is that for the first time we have the male point of view, and that not only makes you connect more with the character but also makes you understand the plot better. In this particular book it was very necessary to have dual narration, because Eli is really the one you get to connect with more, despite his many sexual thoughts directed to Rue 🤣, because if it had been a reading only with the perspective of the female protagonist, I faithfully believe that I would not have liked the story precisely because of what I said about Rue.

As I said, this is an erotic romance and it's important to have this clear from the first moment you start reading it, because it's a story with **a lot** of sexual content, personally I feel it has even more than it should, because although it's through this element that the author lets you see how complicated it is for Rue to connect with someone in a romantic and emotional way, there comes a point where you already understand this message and it's simply uncomfortable to continue reading erotic scenes, I think several of them could have simply been left to the reader's imagination, through the insistence that they are not erotic, There comes a point where you get the message and it's just a little uncomfortable to keep reading erotic scenes, I think several of them could have simply been left to the reader's imagination, through the hint of a sexual encounter, and it would have resulted in a more elegant and polished work. Especially because thanks to all this erotic content with which you are constantly bombarded, the opportunity to explore other characters is lost, for example the relationship of both Eli and Rue with their respective friends and co-workers, although it is something that is mentioned, is not deepened as it should, ending the book almost the same way you started it, without knowing in depth the rest of the characters and their involvement and importance within the story 🤷🏻‍♀️.

¡Hola Hola Comunidad! ✨, hace mucho tiempo que leí éste libro pero honestamente no sabía cómo estructurar una reseña sobre él, fue una lectura que me gustó pero que me dejó con un extraño sabor de boca 🤣, o sea algunas cosas me gustaron y otras no, y sé que eso es normal en cualquier libro, pero con éste fue medianamente diferente 🤣, y es por esa misma sensación de no saber hasta qué punto lo puedo catalogar como una buena lectura, que he pospuesto varias veces su reseña, sin embargo hoy encontré la manera de darle forma a mis ideas y traerles finalmente mi opinión acerca de ***No Es Amor***🧬💖.

💖 SINOPSIS 🧬

**Rue Siebert** ha logrado todo lo que quería de niña, tiene la estabilidad económica que siempre añoro, un grupo de amigos con los que siempre puede contar y una carrera profesional que no solo es exitosa, sino que le permite explorar en temas que son significativos para ella, además tiene la fortuna de trabajar en una de las empresas de biotecnología emergentes de la mano de sus mejores amigas, sin embargo todo comienza a cambiar cuando otra empresa adquiere compromisos legales con Kline (el lugar donde trabaja Rue), y no solo se ve amenazado el futuro de la compañía, sino la estabilidad emocional de Rue, pues no hay nada más desagradable que ser embargados por una compañía en donde uno de los socios es ofensivamente atractivo. **Eli Killgore** ha trabajado durante años para lograr hacerse con la empresa Kline, movido por intereses personales y una antigua injusticia que lo involucra a él y sus socios, todo lo que anhela es finalmente cumplir su plan, y conseguir todo lo que se ha propuesto, no obstante todo se complica cuando conoce a Rue, pues no solo siente una atracción inmediata hacia ella, sino que lo prohibido siempre hace más interesante todo.

💖 BIOTECNOLOGÍA, EMBARGOS Y ATRACCIÓN PROHIBIDA 🧬

Aunque ya es conocido por quienes nos hemos vuelto fans de Ali Hazelwood, que ella siempre usa la misma fórmula mágica en sus historias, resultó muy grato leer algo que se aleja un poco de ese patrón, y es que éste libro definitivamente es muy diferente de lo que estamos acostumbrados a leer de ella, para empezar es un romance erótico y además por primera vez contamos con la narración del protagonista masculino, lo cual saben que yo llevaba rogando de los libros de ésta autora, aparte tiene otra pequeñas diferencias que lo hicieron una lectura bastante interesante 😌. Es un libro que toca temas delicados como es la pobreza extrema y traumas alimenticios, así como el robo de propiedad intelectual, que en éste último punto siento que es donde está la fortaleza de ésta lectura, y es que a lo largo de los diferentes libros de Ali siempre se toca la desigualdad de oportunidades que tienen la mujeres en el ámbito científico, y aunque en éste libro también se menciona, me gusta que ahora el rol de “villano” lo encabece una mujer, me parece que es una postura muy realista, pues si bien son los hombres los que lideran la ciencia y la mayor parte de las injusticias de éste ámbito, eso no excluye a las mujeres de también liderar escenas de éste tipo, en donde por *la necesidad de sobresalir* tengan que recurrir a la deshonestidad con sus equipos de trabajo, así que poner de manifiesto éste tipo de situaciones en éste libro, es lo que resulta de mayor interés en la lectura.

No puedo negar que éste libro es bastante adictivo, yo lo leí cuando estaba en plena crisis de Trabajo de Grado, y a pesar del estrés que representaba esa situación para mí, me fue imposible no devorarme ésta lectura en tan solo un día, aún así tampoco puedo negar que tengo algunos sentimientos encontrados con éste libro, hay elementos de él que me encantan y otros que me quedaron a deber. Uno de ellos es la protagonista, porque si bien me parece un personaje intrigante y con una historia muy emotiva, que te puede incluso tocar fibras sensibles, también se me hizo alguien demasiado antipático 🤷🏻‍♀️, hay quienes opinan que es un personaje neurodiverso y la verdad es que sí se siente como tal, pero aún así había momentos en los que su actitud era demasiado para mí, en muchas oportunidades la quise sacudir para hacerla reaccionar, porque me parecia que tenía comportamientos bastante infantiles y **muy** poco empáticos. Ahora bien, el personaje de Eli se me hizo bastante neutral, siento que Ali trato de hacerlo lo más real posible y al mismo tiempo hacerlo un personaje memorable, como suelen ser sus protagonistas masculinos, y a mi parecer lo consiguió de manera medianamente exitosa, lo más interesante de él en ésta lectura es que por primera vez tenemos el punto de vista masculino, y eso no solo te hace conectar más con el personaje sino que también te hacer entender mejor la trama. En éste libro en particular sí era muy necesario contar con doble narración, porque Eli es realmente con quien más llegas a conectar, pese a su gran cantidad de pensamientos sexuales dirigidos a Rue 🤣, pues de haber sido una lectura solo con la perspectiva de la protagonista femenina, creo fielmente que la historia no me habría gustado justamente por lo que ya comenté de Rue.

Como bien dije, éste es un romance erótico y es importante que se tenga esto claro desde el primer momento en que empiezas a leerlo, porque es una historia con **mucho** contenido sexual, personalmente siento que tiene incluso más del que debería, porque si bien es por medio de éste elemento que la autora deja ver lo complicado que es para Rue conectar con alguien de forma romántica y emocional, llega un punto en el quw tú ya entiendes este mensaje y simplemente ya resulta hasta medio incómodo seguir leyendo escenas eróticas, creo que varias de ellas se pudieron simplemente dejar a la imaginación del lector, a través de la insinuación de un encuentro sexual, y habría resultado en un trabajo más elegante y pulcro. Sobre todo porque gracias a todo éste contenido erótico con el que te bombardean constantemente, se pierde la oportunidad de explorar a otros personajes, por ejemplo la relación tanto de Eli y Rue con sus respectivos amigos y compañeros de trabajo, aunque es algo que se menciona, no se profundiza como es debido, acabando el libro casi de la misma forma en que lo empezaste, sin conocer a profundidad al resto de personajes y su implicación e importancia dentro de la historia 🤷🏻‍♀️.
