Here's a brief update on the stages of banana growing:

Stage 1: Germination (1-2 weeks)

  • Seeds or suckers sprout into new plants
  • First leaves emerge, followed by rhizome development

Stage 2: Rhizome Development (2-4 weeks)

  • Rhizome grows, producing new shoots and roots
  • Plant height increases, and leaves unfurl

Stage 3: Pseudostem Formation (4-6 weeks)

  • Stem-like structure (pseudostem) forms from rolled leaves
  • Plant grows taller, and leaves become larger

Stage 4: Flowering (6-8 weeks)

Stage 5: Fruiting (8-12 weeks)

Stage 6: Harvesting (10-14 weeks)

  • Bananas are fully ripe and ready for harvest
  • Fruit is cut from the plant, leaving a small stem attached

Stage 7: Post-Harvest (after harvesting)

  • Plant continues to produce new growth
  • Suckers emerge for next crop

Growth Cycle Duration: 10-14 weeks (approximately 3-4 months)
