Maple Creemees (Allenholm Farm)

Today we went to Allenholm Farm in South Hero, Vermont. This farm is a family-owned apple orchard that has a farm store, playground, and animals to pet. The farm store sells a variety of products such as produce, maple syrup, apple products, and cheese. They also sold bourbon barrel aged maple syrup which certainly looked interesting to try.
The maple creemees have become a popular item here, so we decided to try one. The maple creemee is vanilla soft-serve ice cream with pure grade B maple syrup added. Grade B maple syrup is a bolder maple syrup that is produced later in the season than grade A syrup. It is thicker with a more robust taste, so it is often used for baking and cooking. The flavor of the ice cream was perfect, as the maple flavor wasn't overbearing. The top of our maple creemee was scattered with dried maple chunk sprinkles on top; the crunch offered a great contrast to the smooth ice cream.
They had an engaging playground for kids which was surrounded by a variety of rustic outdoor games. Next to the play area were some small paddocks with goats and sheep for customers to pet. The animals were so friendly and loved the attention. It was a great place to visit with kids. Check out the photos I took below.
