Boa Vista est l'une des rares destinations du bassin oriental Atlantique qui accueille la migration des baleines à bosses. Plus exactement elle accueille LES migrations des baleines à bosses puisqu'elle est l'une des rare région du monde à accueillir les migrations des baleines de l'hémisphère nord et celles de l'hémisphère sud. Et oui Le Cap-Vert est ouvert sur les deux poles de l'Atlantique ! Nous sommes en mars et c'est le début de la saison des baleines nordiques. quelques unes se sont montrées dès fin janvier et février mais totalement esseulées. Ce matin nous avons eu la chance de rencontrer deux adultes nous offrant plusieurs sauts et nous proposant diverses phases de leur journée. Saut, déplacement, arrêt en surface sur le dos, etc... De quoi nous offrir l'occasion de quelques photographies.	Boa Vista is one of the few destinations in the eastern Atlantic basin that hosts humpback whale migration. Sur certaines de ces photographies vous trouverez une empreinte de la caudale arrière de la baleine. Cette caudale contient des taches blanchâtres. Elle sont disposées d'une manière unique. Cela signifie qu'il n'est pas possible qu'une autre baleine sur la planète dispose de la même disposition de taches sur sa caudale. En d'entres mots, prendre une photo de cette caudale c'est savoir qui est cette baleine. Cela permet une identification. En regroupant les données d'autres photographes sur la planète on peut savoir où la baleine se trouvait cet hiver, l'année dernière, si oui ou non on l'a vu ici à Boa Vista par le passé, etc... La baleine dont nous avons réussi à photographier la caudale se matin ne fait pas partie de celles que nous avons déjà photographiées par le passé. reste à voir si des organismes plus importants ont un suivi de cette baleine...
