Hallooo everyone! I'm back with my Hu Tao fan art, character from the game Genshin Impact, because it's her birthday today! I've been inactive again due to school but it's over now and I've got a lot of free time! Yay! So after a long time not making artwork I think I've drawn in a different art style again. :>
This fan art was inspired by a friend. she's a Hu Tao main that loves boar king so I can't help but put these two together💞.
Sketch
Firstly, of course is the skecth! To make them look cute together, I thought of putting Hu Tao at the back of boar king while asleep. Boar king comes from Dragonspine which is cold and Hu Tao is a pyro charcter so it feels like sharing the warmth.
Line art
Anyways! Next is the line art which I used "For effect line" pen with a maroonish color. In here, I put the details on her clothes and hat but not all details since it will be easier if I put it into coloring later.
Base Colors
Then the base colors. nothing much but the base colors. I used bucket tool then used a normal pen to occupy the spaces that the bucket tool did not fill.
Shading and Lighting
In shading, I used hard light instead of overlay since that's what fits in this illustration. Then I've also putted the other details of the clothes and also Hu Tao's rings. In lighting I just used lighter color of the base an then used white to make the gold parts shiny.
Background
As for the background, I painted the grass first using normal pen the used a grass brush for a little detail. Then I used air brush for the sky to have the gradient effect. Then cloud brush for the clouds and sakura brush for the cherry blossoms.
Additional details
Lastly, we have the shadows and some falling cherry blossoms for aesthetic purposes.
