Splinterlands New Reward Cards
16 comments
Hello everyone, this is my entry to the splinterlands social media challenge for this week. Today, I want to bring to your notice an important yet interesting feature which has been added to the splinterlands game. Sit tight as I take you through this update.
Another update has been made to the ever interesting Splinterlands game. This update went live on Thursday, August 15th after the season ended. With this update, a new use case has been added for the Glint token. This update also saw the seizure of the printing of chaos legion soul bound cards in the reward shop.
The reward cards update has to do with the addition of Rebellion reward cards to the reward shop. As we previously saw with the chaos reward cards where there was 12 common cards, 12 rare cards, 7 epic cards and 12 legendary cards, the rebellion reward cards will come in this same format. In addition to this, something else has been added to these rebellion cards which wasn’t seen with the chaos legion reward cards. Are you wondering what it is?

In addition to the rebellion reward cards, 4 new abilities have been added to these cards to make the game more interesting. These 4 abilities are mimic, corrupter healing, execute and wingbreak. Aside these 4 abilities other things have been added but I’ll address that in next week’s blog. So, stay tuned 🤞
You might be wondering what these new 4 abilities mean right? Splinterlands is like the gift that keeps on giving, there’s something new to learn everyday. Let’s start with mimic.
These rebellion reward cards can be bought with glint from the reward shop. Under the categories, these reward cards can be bought from the loot chests in Gwen's reward shop. I have already made a few purchases for myself and own more than 15 cards already.

Mimic hear could be explained as what the word originally means. This ability takes effect from the second round of battles and allows you to gain a random ability from your enemy’s team. There is a 25% to gain a random ability from your enemy in each round after round 2. Of course some cards with special abilities like dispel will be able to remove these mimics when you’re hit by those cards. Mimic has its limitations meaning not all abilities can be copied. Weapons training, reach, ambush*, charge and taunt are some of the abilities that cannot be mimicked.
The second new ability, corrupted healing, restores a third of the maximum health to allied units but does so by rounding the health down. This means that each time the card is healed in each round, the maximum health of the card is reduced by 1. Ergo name, corrupted.

Third, execute comes into effect when the enemy card you have attacked has a health of 2 or less. When that happens, you immediately perform another attack against this enemy card of 2 or less health. I think that’s interesting only when it works to your advantage of course hehe.
Lastly, wingbreak rebellion cards will always target enemy cards that have the flying ability first. An addition damage of +2 damage is done to such cards.
Earlier, I said there are some other things that were added. These are called debilitations. But not to make this post too long and potentially boring, I will leave this update for my next social media post.
