Good afternoon, Planetauto community 馃. I was looking for a place where I could show my beloved machines and share some stories about them, since I'm a big fan of car machines. 馃槑馃殫
When I was a teenager and finished high school, my dad gave me the choice between a Ford Galaxy 2.0 i or a Ford Ka. The Galaxy was my dad's and was about 6 years old and the Ka was going to be brand new. I always liked big cars with a good engine, so I chose the Galaxy.
I drove the Galaxy for years until I started working and saved up to be able to change it. A year earlier my dad had changed his car for a 1998 Ford Mondeo 1.8 TD. From the moment I saw it, I fell in love! Its red color and its performance drove me crazy, and it was the first time we had a diesel and turbo car. 馃槷
Seeing how comfortable and beautiful the interior was, I decided to trade in my car for another Ford Mondeo. But I wanted a petrol one. The one with the 2.0 Zetec engine. So I found the car of my dreams in the 1999 Mondeo Ghia.
This car came with heated seats, electric roof, electric mirrors, more than 130 horsepower (many say they were lying, since it was more than the real power, close to 141 hp), it really was a luxury car.
The car was already nice in its original version, but I like to decorate it and I put tinted windows, iridescent, gold, in addition to changing the stereo for one with a screen and DVD and some beautiful 17-inch wheels.
I can assure you that going to and from work was a pleasure despite having to travel at least 4 hours a day. But I did it on top of this beautiful car.
Sometimes when my dad didn't have to go to work, I would use his car because I loved how spicy it was. It's more fun with the turbo. My gas car didn't have that intense acceleration, although my car would not stop accelerating when it went over a certain rev.
My dad's car also had improvements and modifications. We put some nice 15-inch wheels on it, tinted windows, and other things. It didn't have as many modifications as mine, but that red color was very eye-catching on the street.
For many years we both enjoyed these cars. They were very important in our lives, especially for me, because I made countless trips in my beloved Mondeo and it never let me down. It always took me where I wanted to go. Just as you can see in the photos, we took good care of them. Both were impeccable.
I miss both cars very much, although we had to sell them to move on to better brands like Citro毛n or Audi. I will tell you that story later.
