This is the initial kick-off message announcing the Waivio open platform for distributed social apps on Steem blockchain. Download Waivio Whitepaper.

Waivio is a combination of an Open Reference Protocol, Attention & Reference Marketplaces and Waivio Labs. Waivio will be using a Smart Media Token under the name WVIO to enable social tokenomics, integrate niche social apps and redirect advertising budgets directly to users, instead of countless intermediaries.

Waivio Reference Protocol introduces a concept of Objects on Steem blockchain that enable users of different apps to improve and reference the same items, locations and concepts. Objects can be used for knowledge accumulation and for establishing domain expertise of users.

Attention & Reference Marketplaces are open platforms that allow businesses to bid for users’ attention relying on their proven domain expertise, while users can trade their attention on their own terms. Open Marketplaces bring the much needed transparency and eliminate unneeded intermediaries.

Waivio Labs are involved in creation, facilitation of creation and re-purposing of niche social apps to function on distributed blockchains and to use social tokenomics for rewarding content creators and curators. Waivio Labs provide resources and expertise designing apps, building social audiences and establishing content policies to attract high-quality authors, especially at early stages.
