The much-anticipated speech by Trump before the U.S. Congress has finally taken place.

Given the advance letter from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressing readiness to sign any agreements at any time and under any conditions set by the U.S., #Trump's #speech turned out to be less scandalous than I had expected. Nevertheless, in my opinion, important aspects of foreign #policy were touched upon, extending beyond #Ukraine.

From the speech itself and the subsequent #media buzz, I would like to highlight the following key points:

  1. Results of the First Six Weeks of Trump's Presidency
U.S. President Donald Trump summarized the achievements of his administration's first six weeks in his address to #Congress. He stated that he had signed over 100 executive orders and 400 other documents, calling this a "record in restoring common sense, #security, #optimism, and #prosperity" in the country.
Trump noted that the first month of his presidency was the most successful in U.S. #history, surpassing even George Washington.

  2. Protection of Women's Sports
Trump emphasized that his administration is actively protecting #women's #sport from the participation of transgender athletes, arguing that this is necessary to preserve fairness. He cited examples of men competing in women's events and breaking records, which, he claimed, undermines the essence of sports competitions.
In addition, I would like to note the withdrawal from the #WHO and the cessation of funding for many aid projects abroad.

  3. Criticism of Previous and Praise for Musk
The president praised #Elon #Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (#DOGE), which focuses on reducing bureaucracy and auditing #government contracts. In his speech, Trump criticized the spending of previous administrations, citing examples of wasteful expenditures, including $8 million on LGBT promotion.

  4. Peace Negotiations with #Ukraine and #Russia
Trump announced that he had received a letter from #Zelensky expressing readiness for peace negotiations. According to Trump, Russia has also sent "convincing signals" of its willingness to engage in dialogue.
Noted that his administration is actively working towards achieving peace, which he described as "wonderful." He also stated that Ukraine is ready to sign an agreement on rare earth metals at any time!

  5. "Support" for #Greenland and the Return of the #Panama_Canal
The president expressed support for the people of Greenland, stating that the U.S. is ready to incorporate the island into the country if its residents decide to do so. This draws a direct parallel to Russia's actions regarding the Crimea #referendum.
He also promised to return the Panama Canal to U.S. control, assigning this task to Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Trump reminded everyone that the canal was handed over to Panama by the Jimmy Carter administration but stressed that the agreement had been violated.
Notably, #China has already sold its shares in the canal's management companies to American investors in advance.

  6. Strengthening National Security:

    • Trump emphasized the need to strengthen national security, proposing the creation of an advanced Golden Dome missile #defense system, entirely made in the U.S.
    • He also highlighted the success in #military #recruitment, calling January the best month in the last 15 years.
    • To accelerate the construction of military and #commercial ships, the president proposed tax incentives for the shipbuilding industry.
  7. Retaliatory Tariffs and Trade Policy
Trump announced the introduction of retaliatory #tariffs starting April 2 against countries imposing higher duties on American products. He claimed that these measures would bring trillions of dollars into the budget and create jobs. Trump stressed that the U.S. would no longer tolerate unfair trade practices by other countries.

  8. Immigration Policy
Trump paid special attention to the successes of his #immigration policy. He noted that only 8,326 migrants attempting to cross the Mexican border illegally were detained in February, a record low.
He also proposed introducing a "golden card" for $5 million for #investors seeking U.S. #citizenship. Such a measure, he argued, would attract successful individuals from around the world and reduce the national debt.

  9. Energy Independence and the Alaska Gas Pipeline
Trump announced the construction of a massive #gas #pipeline in #Alaska, which would attract trillions of dollars in investments from Japan, South Korea, and other countries. He also spoke of plans to increase the extraction of rare earth metals in the U.S., calling it a historic step towards strengthening the country's #energy #independence.
Recently, there have been rumors in the press about American companies' interest in participating in the restoration of Nord Stream 2. Drawing from Ukraine's experience, we are familiar with the scheme where, through intermediary companies, Russian gas becomes "European" for Ukraine at an inflated price. It seems Trump is determined to tighten Europe's energy grip.
Тoday Bloomberg already has inside information that the US and Russia are discussing the possibility of joint extraction of natural resources in the Arctic and cooperation on trade routes.

  10. Ban on Funding for Child Sex Change Operations
Particularly noteworthy was the executive order to cease funding any institutions involved in the so-called "sexual mutilation" of #children at taxpayers' expense. Trump also called on Congress to pass a law permanently banning and #criminalizing sex change operations for children.
"A child cannot be trapped in someone else's body. That is a big lie," Trump declared.

  11. U.S. Space Ambitions
Concluding his speech, Trump promised that the U.S. would continue to push the boundaries of science and #space exploration. He declared that the American flag would be planted on #Mars and that the country would maintain its leadership in space exploration!

  12. Plan to Lift Sanctions Against Russia
Trump is preparing a plan to lift #sanctions against ₽Russia, instructing the State Department and the Treasury to compile a list of sanctions that could be revoked. The plan will be presented to Russian officials in the coming days as part of broader negotiations to improve diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries.

This is not so much like an alliance of two powers, it is rather a synergy of two leaders and their actions. In addition, both leaders are infinitely far from political ideologies, which removes irrational contradictions between them. By the way, Putin and Trump had insoluble ideological conflicts with representatives of the Democratic Party of the USA and the EU.
Trump is all about money. And that's great, because it's always easier to negotiate with people like that than with ideologically obsessed robots who are incapable of taking a sober look at things.
The US lost money from American companies leaving the Russian market (I never tire of reminding them of the $300 billion they lost), from the introduction of sanctions on Russian resources, from the severance of business contacts, and many other things.
At least, this is how it all looks from the outside.

Reaction from Democrats and the International Media Situation

  • In the U.S. Congress, Democrats listened to Trump's speech holding signs that read "lies" and chanted phrases like "Musk is stealing."

  • Macron and Starmer are ready to travel to Washington with Zelensky to present a plan for Ukrainian settlement.

  • The Daily Mail reports that the UK is taking steps to convince the White House to resume military aid to Kyiv.

  • #Germany has reached the limit of its ability to transfer weapons from its arsenals to Ukraine, says German Defense Ministry

  • Trump's National Security Adviser Mike Waltz Admits US Doesn't Have Enough Weapons to Transfer to Ukraine, Refuses to Call Putin a Dictator "Our Stockpiles Around the World Are Depleted"

  • The U.S. has banned the UK from sharing #intelligence obtained from Washington with Ukraine, effectively withdrawing support for Zelensky.

  • According to The Wall Street Journal, the following may be applied against Zelensky:

  1. 18 U.S.Code §371 (conspiracy to interfere with elections),
  2. 18 U.S.Code §1956 (money laundering)
  3. 18 U.S.Code §666 (embezzlement of federal funds),
  4. 18 U.S. Code §1116 (murder of U.S. citizens abroad) and the TVPA (Torture Victims Protection Act) in relation to the murder of Gonzalo Lira
  5. War Crimes Act-1996 (in the area of war crimes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine).
  • There is no new date yet for signing a minerals agreement with Ukraine, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said.

  • Germany has reached the limit of its ability to transfer weapons from its arsenals to Ukraine, says German Defense Ministry

  • Volt MEPs will send a nine-point plan to EU leaders today ahead of an emergency summit on Thursday. The document proposes:
🔹 Strip Hungary of its EU voting rights.
🔹 Appoint Kaja Kallas as a full-fledged EU foreign minister.
🔹 Create a single European army.
🔹 Amend treaties to give the EU more powers in the field of defence and prepare the Union for enlargement.

  • "If war is what the US wants, whether it is a tariff war, a trade war or any other type of war, we are ready to fight to the end," "Intimidation does not scare us. Intimidation does not work on us," the X account of the Chinese Foreign Ministry says

  • "Only Turkey's full membership in the European Union can save Europe." - Erdogan.

Against the backdrop of the U.S. Secretary of Defense's readiness to sign an order transferring all military supplies delivered to Europe for Ukraine to Israel, the European Commission has today decided to initiate a public discussion regarding the "issues" surrounding Netanyahu. All European media have begun actively stirring up the topic of the criminal cases against the Israeli Prime Minister and why they are on hold. Ursula von der Leyen's very dangerous game could cost her career as early as this year. French media have also eagerly joined in amplifying the situation around Netanyahu, which is unsurprising given that France has the highest level of Islamization and anti-Semitism. The United Kingdom ranks second in these same criteria.

It's funny to watch European diplomacy, which, even after public humiliation in the White House, continues to push narratives about evil Russians and Jewish conquerors. The French and partly Germans, incited by the British, look comical against the backdrop of a large-scale global redistribution
