I don't want to be the next Michael Jordan, I only want to be Kobe Bryant. (Kobe Bryant)

I have just been looking through a page full of quotes from Kobe Bryant, and to be honest, I really like many of the things he said.

I often discuss with family members who say that they would love to be someone else. I can easily understand them. Wouldn't it be great to be a part of the royal family in the UK for a day? Or wouldn't it be great to be Ronaldo, or maybe Tiger Woods? Or maybe you would rather be Vitalik Buterin or Bill Gates?

It is reasonable, and I can understand it. But, let me tell you one more thing. I totally agree with Kobe Bryant.

I don't want to be the next Michael Jordan, I only want to be Kobe Bryant.

What is it all about? Kobe didn't want to live the life of some other person. Instead, his desire was to become the very best version of himself. He didn't want to live the success or failure of others, but he wanted to experience that in his very own body... the way he was supposed to do it with his life.

And I greatly admire that. I don't want to bite in the success of others. Instead, I want to experience success myself, in my own body, in my own life, and be able to say that God helped me achieve whatever I achieved.

It isn't about giving glory to myself and about being selfish. It is about being happy in your own body! It is about longing to live your own life to the max, instead of desiring to be in the body and live the life of some other person.

Do you agree? How do you feel about this?
