Corona 10-Inch Folding Saw

By: Something Kind

In this comparative review, two sub twenty-dollar folding saws - the Fiskars Power Tooth and the Corona - with razor tooth technology are pitted against each other. It is noted that both saws cut on the pull as well as the push. The Fiskars saw from Home Depot costs about seventeen dollars, has a ten inch blade with less curvature, and a hardwood handle that is somewhat large and hence, not very comfortable. On the other hand, the Corona also has a ten-inch blade but with more curvature, a slimmer design, and a plastic handle with rubberized sections for better grip.

In comparison to the Fiskars, the Corona has been found to cut faster, the slim and highly curved blade providing more leverage while cutting. The more comfortable grip design on these saws allows one to use them in different angles, providing much-needed ergonomics, particularly while cutting thicker sections of wood. However, a downside to the Corona design is the lack of recess for the teeth and the blade sticking out of the lanyard hole, which could damage other items while storing. All in all, it was concluded that the Corona, despite some design flaws, still cuts better and faster than the Fiskars saw. #Fiskars #Corona #FoldingSaws #Woodcutting #ToolComparison
