LeoAI By The End Of The Month
6 comments
On the most recent AMA, we got some insight into the timeline on LeoAI and what we can expect to roll out. There was a bit of a change, at least as compared to what we were discussing publicly. The rollout is not quite what we expected.
That isn't to say anything was altered. In fact, it is on track exactly how we imagined, just not in the order we suggested. Now bear in mind, this was based upon speculation. Never did the LEO team state the features that would roll out first.
With that, we can dig into what is going to take place.

LeoAI: Recommend Engine
To start, the target is to have LeoAI in operation and on the site by the end of the month. This was reaffirmed on the call so July does appear to be the month.
What is different is the features. LeoAI, upon release, is not going to be a chatbot. We will not have a page to prompt like ChatGPT. Nor will we have the co-pilot feature at that time.
So what is LeoAI going to be?
Upon going live, it will behind the recommend engine. This means that it will take the data that it was trained upon and use it to give recommendations.
This will apply to two areas and, possibly a third depending upon development.
The first is the For You feed. This is going to be powered by LeoAI to give better recommendations based upon the thread topics interacted with. It will provide a more personalized experience as compared to where we stand NOW.
Another area we will see a change is with the individual Threads. Copying what X did, LeoAI is also going to recommend another thread when viewing one. Again, like the For You feed, this is designed to provide more personalized engagement.
These are the areas that we know about.
A third area that could potentially be enhance by LeoAI is LeoShorts. These are going to be threads so it makes sense that a short will have others recommended. Since we do not know the change in the UI layout, we cannot really comment on how exactly this will look.
Video Delay
As an aside, we have to talk about video.
We are going to see the ability to add video directly through InLeo. This was discussed a few weeks back and still is not live. Once again, the AMA provided some insight.
At the moment, there is a button on the publish form for video. It is grayed out, showing it is inoperable. The reason is because, in testing, there are still problems. We are at the point of waiting on the development team to figure this out.
How long will it take? That is anyone's guess. The problem could be solved tomorrow or it could still be an issue a month from now. Hence the joys of programming.
Once this issue is resolved, the ability to add shorts will soon follow. That will provide Leo with the ability to add video right into threads.
Here is where the recommend engine could become extremely useful. We know that YouTube and TikTok excel at providing people with video options based upon what they viewed. Leo is looking to bring some of that to this platform.
Transcripts
It was also mentioned that work will be done to provide transcripts of the video. This is another feature that is not going to be live upon release.
However, the idea here is to provide a couple different options for people.
To start, transcripts are helpful for translation. Often someone wants the information but doesnt speak the language. If the video doesnt have subtitles, it is for not.
With transcripts, someone can take the text and run it through a translator. That provides the user with the information.
The second reason pertains to LeoAI. By having a transcript, this is something else that is fed back into the training model. As the data is connected to other aspects of the vector, it enhances the quality of the results.
Here is where we see the circular feedback to the system. More data is generated through video transcripts which is then posted on threads, resulting it in being fed back into LeoAI.
Either way, a recommend engine is imperative for video. Sites without that tend not to have much of an impact in terms of viewership. As the Leo video library grows, it will be helpful to have the recommend.
Based upon what we are told, it is projected that we will see they by the end of the month.
