The Pigeons of Sarajevo

I have been to Sarajevo 3 times now, and there is one thing I can say for sure.
Sarajevo has a LOT of pigeons.
I think that Sarajevo might be a pigeon heaven where they will be born if they do all of their pigeon stuff right.
There are a bunch of crows and sparrows too, but by far, pigeons dominate this city.

This video is from "Pigeon Square" in Old Town. You can buy dried corn to feed them there, but most people just give them bread.
Pigeon Square has the largest concentration of pigeons, but they are all over the city.
It's actually difficult to take a photo without getting photobombed.

So that is a crow on top, but the pigeon is flying in from the right.

I'm sure they saw Franz Ferdinand get shot from here...

Maybe our great cosmic reward as humans is to be born as pigeons in Sarajevo.
I can tell you that they eat well and don't give a shit about anything!
Maybe someday...
