The Agony of our Mother Earth

The agony of our mother is profound,
Climate change gnawing at her fragile heart,
Rising temperature, a relentless wound,
Water polluted, tearing ecosystems apart.

Deforestation, her precious trees lay bare,
Self-discipline lost, our greed leading the way,
Her suffering, a burden we must bear,
In misfortune's shadow, our conscience must stay.

Rebuild we must, with hands and hearts aligned,
Plant trees, a pledge to heal her fragile soul,
For only through action can true redemption find,
In unity we'll nurture, making her whole.

Let us awaken, from our stupor, arise,
Embrace the urgency, the need to change our course,
Equal number of words per line, no disguise,
Hear her silent plea, lest we face remorse.

The agony of our mother calls our name,
In this free verse, the truth shall be revealed,
For we hold the power to extinguish the flame,
And in her healing, a brighter future sealed.
