Whenever I do, myself and perhaps many others, we try to make the screenshots as beautiful as possible, showcasing the best scenarios and the most detailed graphics. In this quest for quality, we often undervalue older games, those retro ones, and especially 2D games. But pixel art was a necessity that turned into art, and today, I'd like to dedicate this post to recognizing one of my favorite games that perhaps has the most beautiful artistic and aesthetic aspect of the SNES catalog.

This game is none other than Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

In this game, we took on the role of Yoshi and had to protect a helpless baby Mario. We had a great variety of attacks, from eating enemies to spitting them out and throwing eggs. It stood out for being a unique twist to the classic story.

Critics and players loved this installment, backed by a large number of sales and a reissue for the Game Boy Advance, but behind this success along with a new story was undoubtedly its graphics. The island was presented to us as a colorful and joyful universe worthy of exploration, with varied and picturesque characters and environments. Each flower, mushroom, cave, and even the lava seemed more alive than ever, not to mention the memorable enemies. Special attention to how carefully and well-integrated the backgrounds of the scenarios were.

Replaying it recently, I noticed that it has aged very well

Despite the fact that playing it in the original resolution can be somewhat annoying for some, it is worth it. It is incredibly beautiful. Here I will share the photos of the scenarios of the first levels, exactly up to the first castle and first boss, so you can appreciate the beauty of this game.
