Hello #HIVE friends and my dear #LMAC community, I hope you had a nice start of the week. As the results of this round are coming in, I didn't want to miss the opportunity to continue exploring the #LIL gallery, which has a wealth of resources at our disposal to unleash our creativity. So I set myself a challenge: design a t-shirt in honor of this Hive community using these resources.

Inspired by my entry this round, where I chose brutalism as the base style, I wanted this design to have a similar style but more colorful, representing our community.

If you want to know more about brutalism in art and graphic design, I'll tell you a little bit about it. It is a trend inspired by the architectural movement of the 50's, characterized by the lack of ornaments, with a sometimes careless and uncorrected aesthetic, which is confused with the lack of concern for the final result. This style seeks to express feelings and emotions in the roughest possible way and to be the counterpart of the most commercial design.

Well, going back to the collage, first I made an exploration using the Random-Pick button of the library to obtain random results. Little by little I went for the images that caught my attention the most, I also used an image that I already had downloaded from the previous round and that I really like.

My creative process

Then the magic began. Little by little, with the main idea in my head, I began to cut out and assemble each element. Here I can spend several hours, because I never end up completely happy with the result. With everything in place, I added some preset textures, some displacements, gradients and, finally, the halftone grid effect.

When I had everything ready, I decided to place it in a Mockup. As I couldn't find any in the gallery (maybe I will add them soon), I decided to go to an external source. In this case, a Mockup obtained from Syndrome Design, an Instagram designer that on his website offers several very useful and totally free resources. I had to make some changes and correct the colors, but nothing that took me more than 15 minutes.

Diseñando una camiseta en honor a LMAC en Hive

Hola, amigos de #HIVE y mi querida comunidad de #LMAC, espero que hayan tenido un lindo inicio de semana. Mientras se acercan los resultados de este round, no quería perder la oportunidad de seguir explorando la galería #LIL, que cuenta con una gran cantidad de recursos a nuestra disposición para dar rienda suelta a nuestra creatividad. Así que me propuse un reto: diseñar una camiseta en honor a esta comunidad de Hive usando estos recursos.

Inspirado en mi entrada de este round, donde opté por el brutalismo como estilo base, quise que este diseño tuviera un estilo parecido pero más colorido, representando a nuestra comunidad.

Si quieres saber más sobre el brutalismo en el arte y en el diseño gráfico, te cuento un poco. Es una tendencia inspirada en el movimiento arquitectónico de los años 50, caracterizada por la falta de adornos, con una estética a veces descuidada y sin correcciones, que se confunde con la despreocupación por el resultado final. En este estilo se busca expresar sentimientos y emociones de la forma más áspera posible y ser contraparte del diseño más comercial.

Bueno, regresando al collage, primero hice una exploración usando el botón Random-Pick de la librería para obtener resultados aleatorios. Poco a poco me fui decantando por las imágenes que más me llamaron la atención, también usé una imagen que ya tenía descargada del round anterior y que me gusta mucho.

Mi Proceso

Después comenzó la magia. Poco a poco, con la idea principal en la cabeza, comencé a recortar y montar cada elemento. Aquí puedo pasar varias horas, porque nunca termino del todo contento con el resultado. Ya con todo en su sitio, agregué algunas texturas preestablecidas, algunos desplazamientos, degradados y, por último, el efecto de retícula de semitonos.

Cuando ya tenía todo listo, decidí colocarlo en un Mockup. Como no pude encontrar ninguno en la galería (quizás pronto los agregue yo), decidí ir a una fuente externa. En este caso, un Mockup obtenido de Syndrome Design, un diseñador de Instagram que en su web ofrece varios recursos muy útiles y totalmente gratuitos. Tuve que hacer algunos cambios y corregir los colores, pero nada que me tomara más de 15 minutos.
