Controlling your seasonal allergies with essential oils

I use Lavender, Peppermint and Lemon essential oil to help keep my spring allergies under control. Before I discovered using these oils for my allergies I would take over the counter drugs to control my allergies. Or use a neti pot to flush out my sinuses. But since I started using these oils I have stopped my other treatments. As the oils are quite effective when taken a few times a day. And during the season with all the tree pollen I take these homemade pills a few times a day.

Since I moved to Georgia, living in a forest has its drawbacks if your sensitive to pollen. I discovered the first year living here that my sinuses really hate the pollen around March and April.

I have tried taking these essential oils without capsules and they are too strong, so by putting the oils in these pills you can take them without the discomfort.

Using a 00 capsule I fill them up with three oils, Lemon, Peppermint and Lavender. You may find that a different mix of oils work better for you, but this is my mix that my body likes. It takes time to find which oils are good for you, and everyones body is different so one persons choice of oils may or may not by your choice of oils.

Getting the oil out of these little bottles requires you to hold them in a certain position. A small hole can be seen in the top of these bottles where the oil comes out from.

Eventhough we are using Young Living products in this video, there are many other brands that are good quality. You can discover all kinds of essential oil brands out there just looking on amazon and such.

Once each bottle has a few drops added to the capsule its time to seal it up.

I take the cap it comes with and place it over the filled part, snapping it into place. When I first started I would not put the cap on firmly enough, you can push them pretty tight if you try. Otherwise you may get a mouth or throat full of oil. It can be spicy and not pleasant.

Essential oils have many uses, allergies is only one of them. I try to use these oils before I resort to using over the counter drugs or attempting to see a doctor over an issue. And usually when the right oils are used, your issue is cleared up. But thats just me, you do what you think is best for your own health.
