Sunscreen in Brush. ISDIN UV Mineral Brush REVIEW [ENG/ESP]

Cleanse, moisturize and protect... the three key skin care words we look everywhere. Personally, it has become easier for me to find products for cleansing and moisturizing processes, however, when it comes to sunscreens I still don't have a favorite. Therefore, whenever I can I am trying new options according to the needs of my skin, to get a sunscreen that basically has these three characteristics:

1.- dry touch: because my skin is oily and I don't feel comfortable using a product that leaves extra shine on my skin.
2.- Pleasant feeling: this means that it is easier to spread it all over the face, that it does not smell too strong, that it does not leave a white or lumpy appearance.
3.- That it works!!! and although I can't see this directly myself, I can know through youtube reviews from dermatologists, or reading about the ingredients to know what I put on my skin.

So, in my process of searching for sunscreens of all types and from all brands, I decided to try out the ISDIN Mineral Brush Sunscreen, with the intention of using it mainly to "touch up" the sunscreen that I had previously applied in cream or gel.

This sunscreen is everywhere, instagram, tiktok,and whenever I visited a drugstore I would see it and it caught my eye, until one day I got a deal and was encouraged to buy it to try it out, for around $16. I've been using it for the last few months but I'm not going to lie, I haven't been that judicious, because if it already takes time to get used to using sunscreen every day, the fact of "touching it up" is something that costs twice as much. However, it has been proven that the protection has a certain time and that being outdoors, sweating, decreases over time the effectiveness. So yes, it definitely needs to be touched up and this year I have made a commitment to myself to be more conscious about it.

ISDIN Mineral Brush Photoprotector has UVB and UVA protection (protection factor 50+), is hypoallergenic, dermatologically tested and suitable for reactive and sensitive skin. It should be noted that, as its name indicates, this is a mineral sunscreen, i.e., it remains on the surface of the skin and reflects solar radiation. The minerals it contains are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. The times I've used these ingredients in liquid versions, they tend to leave the skin looking white, but luckily, that doesn't happen at all with this product and that's a big plus! It practically feels like using a tinted powder.

The box the product comes in is labeled "anti-pollution", meaning it protects us from all external pollutants, with protection against blue light (perfect for teleworking and in general daily life as we are constantly exposed to screens). In addition, it has a light coverage, invisible finish, and has light reflectors that make the skin look smoother and wrinkle-free.

My experience: It's the easiest to apply I've used (although I haven't tried the mist/spray style ones yet), as it feels like applying a final layer of powder with a brush. The name on the "on the go" box is very apt, as it's perfect to carry in our purse, in our makeup kit. When I use it, I am careful to "clean" my skin before with a wipe to remove oil and dirt and thus not to dirty the brush, but this is perhaps the biggest disadvantage of this product and is that definitely, the brush can get dirty and we will be carrying dirt continuously to our skin. I have seen some videos of what they do to clean it (take the content to a separate place, wash the brush and let it dry well) and maybe it is a good option to have a better control of what we put on our skin, but we know that this will not be something we will do often because it takes time.

This sunscreen mattifies the skin, I love that I can use it over makeup and it is almost not noticeable. Honestly I find it ideal for touch-ups, but I think it's important to have a previous protection cream that we can see how it is applied in each of the areas exposed to the sun (these powders are nanoparticles and almost not seen!). I'm a little annoyed that to use it you have to tap it on the top, otherwise, no product comes out, but I think this makes it so that it's not accidentally wasted either.

One criticism I have seen is the small amount of product it comes with (previously 4gr, currently 2gr). I remember that as soon as I bought it I thought it was expensive because I thought it would run out very quickly but that's not really the case. I've used it a bunch of times and it's still not even half full. Anyway, it is well known that brands have their strategies to sell more, I really don't know if this is the case.

I find that it comes in a single shade and at least on my skin tone it looks good.
It is very practical, easy to use on a daily basis and allows us to touch up the product as many times as we want without it being a cumbersome process. I have looked for reviews from dermatologists and many recommend it precisely for retouching. In conclusion and taking into account what I have told you, I think it is a good option at a relatively good price for what it offers and the quality of the product. Regarding the 3 features I look for in a sunscreen and that I mentioned at the beginning, it may seem a bit expensive, but currently sunscreens from internationally recognized and dermatologically tested brands have that price range.

Limpiar, hidratar y proteger... las tres palabras claves del cuidado de la piel que miramos en todos lados. Personalmente, se me ha hecho más fácil la búsqueda de productos para los procesos de limpieza e hidratación, sin embargo, cuando hablamos de protectores solares todavía no tengo un Favorito. Por eso, siempre que puedo estoy probando nuevas opciones de acuerdo a las necesidades de mi piel, para conseguir un protector que tenga básicamente estas tres características:

1.- Toque seco: pues mi piel es grasa y no me siento cómoda usando un producto que me deje un brillo adicional en la piel.
2.- sensación agradable: esto es que sea más fácil esparcirlo por todo el rostro, que no huela muy fuerte, que no deje un aspecto blanco o con grumos.
3.- Que funcione!! y aunque esto no lo puedo ver directamente yo, sí que puedo saber a través de reseñas en youtube de dermatólogos, o leyendo sobre los ingredientes para saber que es lo que me pongo en mi piel.

Así pues, en mi proceso de búsqueda de protectores solares de todos los tipos y de todas las marcas, decidí probar el Fotoprotector Mineral Brush de la Marca ISDIN, con la intención de usarlo principalmente para "retocar" el protector solar que ya me haya aplicado previamente en crema o gel.

Este protector está en todos lados, instagram, tiktok,y siempre que visitaba una farmacia lo veía y me llamaba la atención, hasta que un día conseguí una oferta y me animé a comprarlo para probarlo, por alrededor de 16$. Lo he estado utilizando los últimos meses pero no les voy a mentir, no he sido tan juiciosa, porque si ya de por sí lleva tiempo acostumbrarse a usar protector solar todos los días, el hecho de "retocarlo" es algo que cuesta el doble. Sin embargo, se ha comprobado que la protección tiene un tiempo determinado y que al estar en la calle, sudando, disminuye con el tiempo la efectividad. Así que sí, definitivamente hay que retocarlo y este año me he comprometido conmigo misma a ser más consciente con ello.

El Fotoprotector ISDIN Mineral Brush tiene protección UVB y UVA (factor de protección 50+), es hipoalergénico, probado dermatológicamente y apto para piel reactiva y sensible. Cabe resaltar que, como su nombre lo indica, este es un protector solar mineral, es decir, se queda en la superficie de la piel y refleja la radiación solar. Los minerales que contiene son el dióxido de titanio y óxido de zinc. Las veces que he usado estos ingredientes en versiones líquidas, suelen dejar la piel con un aspecto blanco, pero por suerte, esto no ocurre en lo absoluto con este producto y eso es un gran plus! Prácticamente se siente como usar un polvo con color.

En la cajita en la que viene el producto se lee "anti polución", es decir, nos protege de todos los contaminantes externos, con protección contra la luz azul (perfecto para el teletrabajo y en general la vida diaria pues estamos constantemente expuestos a pantallas). Además, posee una cobertura ligera, acabado invisible, y posee reflectores de luz que hace que la piel luzca más lisa y sin arrugas.

Mi experiencia: Es el protector más sencillo de aplicar que he usado (aunque todavía no he probado los estilo bruma/spray), pues se siente como aplicar una capa final de polvos con una brocha. El nombre que trae en la cajita de "on the go" es muy acertado, pues es perfecto para llevar en el bolso, en nuestro kit de maquillaje. Cuando lo uso, tengo cuidado de "limpiar" mi piel antes con una toallita para retirar la grasa y suciedad y así no ensuciar la brocha, pero esta quizás sea la mayor desventaja de este producto y es que definitivamente, la brocha se puede ensuciar y estaremos llevando suciedad continuamente a nuestra piel. He visto algunos videos de lo que hacen para limpiarla (sacar el contenido a un lugar aparte, lavar la brocha y dejarla secar bien) y quizás sea una buena opción para tener un mayor control de lo que ponemos sobre nuestra piel, pero sabemos que esto no será algo que haremos con frecuencia pues toma tiempo.

Este protector solar matifica la piel, me encanta que puedo usarlo sobre el maquillaje y que casi no se note. Sinceramente me parece ideal para retoques, pero creo que es importante tener una protección previa en crema que podamos ver como queda aplicada en cada una de las zonas expuestas al sol (estos polvos son de nanopartículas y casi no se ven!). Me fastidia un poco que para usarlo hay que darle toquecitos por arriba, pues de lo contrario, no sale nada de producto, pero creo que esto hace que tampoco se desperdicie de forma accidental.

Una crítica que he visto es la poca cantidad de producto que trae (anteriormente 4gr, actualmente 2gr). Recuerdo que apenas lo compré me pareció carísimo porque pensé que se me acabaría muy rápido pero realmente no es el caso. Lo he usado un montón de veces y todavía no llega ni a la mitad. De todos modos, es bien sabido que las marcas tienen sus estrategias para vender más, realmente no sé si este sea el caso.

Me parece que viene en un único tono y al menos en mi tono de piel queda bien.
Es muy práctico, fácil de usar en el día a día y nos permite retocar el producto cuantas veces queramos sin que sea un proceso engorroso. He buscado reseñas de dermatólogos y muchos lo recomiendan precisamente para retocar. En conclusión y tomando en cuenta lo que les he dicho, me parece que es una buena opción a un precio relativamente bueno para lo que ofrece y la calidad del producto. Con respecto a las 3 características que busco en un protector solar y que les comentaba al inicio, puede que me parezca un poco costoso, pero actualmente los protectores solares de marcas reconocidas internacionalmente y probadas dermatológicamente tienen ese rango de precios.
