Division Festival of Talents 2023: Memories and Experiences at the Municipality of Daanbantayan Cebu

Hello, wonderful people of this awesome community. How are you today? Hopefully, you are doing great today! For today's blog, I will be sharing with you my experiences during the Division Festival of Talents held in the Municipality of Daanbantayan Cebu.
For the past weeks, the school-related matter is very hectic. We had the checking of school forms, and we conducted municipal level for the Festival of Talents for Population Development Area last May 31, 2023. Winners in the said competition represent in the Division Festival of Talent which was held last June 2-5, 2023.
Days before the competition, we conducted meetings and prepared the necessary documents to be submitted at the Division Level for the credentials of the winning coach and student. As the designated District Coordinator in our subject, one of my tasks is to ensure that the winning coach and student will be listed in the list of participants and I made sure that all information shared by the Municipal - Division Festival of Talents Coordinator will also be shared to the winning coach on time.
Last June 2, 2023, Solidarity Meeting was called before the conduct of the contest proper to prepare the necessary materials during the contest. Together with the winning coaches we attended the said meeting at Paypay National High School - the contest venue for Population Quiz and Oratorical Contest in Population Development Area.

The moment you arrive at Paypay National High School, you will be amazed by the wall paintings on the school fence.
The staff and other teachers were very welcoming to all the participating municipalities. There was an assigned staff at the reception area who will guide us to the solidarity meeting area.
Afterward, got the chance to roam around and explore the best of Paypay National High School.

What I admire about their building is that it was very organized. No buildings that block others. Also, you will never get wrong about your whereabouts here because all the buildings are labeled properly with the building number as an indicator.
As I roam around, I saw labels as to the municipalities that stayed in the area. Three municipalities were staying in the area for their sleeping quarters.

Municipalities who stayed in the school had to bring with them some sleeping paraphernalia during the entire stay and kitchen tools for them to cook their food.
Some were cooking food for their dinner and others are laying their mats on the floor to arrange everything for those who will occupy the classrooms.
On the opening ceremony, June 3, 2023, an opening parade was held at Daanbantayan National High School going to Daanbantayan Cultural Center.
With the number of participants participating in the opening parade, the time frame for the opening ceremony was delayed yet it was a successful opening for the said event.
After the opening ceremony, it signals the start of the contests for some events but there are still other contests to be held on the second day - June 4, 2023.
On the contest day, all coaches and students were at the venue before the time. The contest will start at exactly 1:00 p.m. The contestants for the Pop Quiz contest settled down in the school gymnasium while the Oratorical Speech was placed at Building 8.
Contestants for the Pop Quiz and Oratorical Speech were coming from the secondary department either Junior High School or Senior High School students.
It was a tough competition for everyone out of the 33 contestants for the Pop Quiz, and 14 contestants for the Oratorical, only 3 will remain the best among the best.
After the contest for the pop quiz, I decided to go to Tuminjao National High School to observe the cake decorating and fruit carving contest.
Contestants for the cake decorating contests were coming from the secondary department while the fruit carving contests are from the elementary department.
Seeing these young students competing for the top 3 is a great challenge. All of them are winners in their respective municipalities and the top 3 among the best ones will be the chosen winners.
As to the cake decorating contest, two students will team up to bake and decorate the cake. I've seen a lot of talented ones. They were tasked to decorate a 3-layered wedding cake. And I can see that all of them were showing the best they can do to win the competition.
On fruit carving, two students also team up to carve different fruit designs. As you can see, they were also doing their best to make it up on time and present their best output to the judges. All of the outputs were best, seems like not from the elementary department, a very professional one.
After my short visit to Tuminjao National High School, I decided to visit their church. Ever since I was not able to visit this place even if I am from Cebu.
The church structure is very old looking. You can feel the solemnity in the place. On the adjacent portion, you can see the convent which is very colorful, especially during nighttime.
Afterward, I realized, it was almost 6 in the afternoon and I need to go home now with my motorcycle.
Despite the distance of the venue, the place is worth traveling for a lot of good things you can see in the place and a lot of beautiful beaches you can go to and unwind after the contest.
Indeed, that was a wonderful experience attending the Division Festival of Talent for the first time.
Seeing the best contestants from elementary to secondary departments with unbelievable talents and skills is awesome.
