Building a DIY Story Tower: A Creative Guide to Crafting Your Own Vertical Adventure

Good Day Hivers!! It's me again your student model, academic achiever, and a person that addicted to diy materials. So the DIY Story Tower is a tower where we place the story, characters, authors, summary, and lessons of the story. It also needs to be creative because it's part of our performance. Building it took a lot of time, so we were given a long period to complete it. This is the result of our hard work and sacrifices. Let me now start discussing how we built it.

Before we build this tower we do first the brainstorming to get ready of what our theme and topic. The first step before making a DIY story tower is to decide on a theme. Think about what kind of story we want to tell, like a castle, a jungle, or a space adventure. This will help us choose colors, decorations, and what the tower will look like.
Now that we've decided on the theme for our tower, it’s time to gather our materials. For a sturdy, creepy design, collect wood for the structure, cardboard to add layers, glue sticks for easy assembly, and paints in dark colors like black, red, and purple to give it a spooky look. We also gather fabric scraps, markers, and decorative elements like monster figurines to add extra creepy details.
Here we are preparing to build the pillars of our tower. It was very difficult because the wood pieces were uneven, and we formed it into an octagon, which made it harder. However, we worked together in building it, so it became easier.

In this part, we first put the tower into a sunny place to help the paint dry faster. We used cardboard to wrap it and then added a layer of newspaper on top to make it more durable. We also painted it brown to make our tower look better. We really put a lot of effort into making it. That's why there are some damages on it because the story is about a monster, so we made the tower match the theme of the story we created.

While the tower was drying, we cut out the lettering for the title of the tower, and others worked on making the grass and forming the design on the upper part of the tower.

Some of my classmates made characters using wire for the legs, head, and arms, then newspaper and glue to make everything stick together. However, they had a hard time because they didn't know how to do it. But thank God, they were able to finish it because they worked together in making it.

This is what we looked like after working all day and getting caught by the night because not everyone was helping. We still delivered it to our school even though it was already late, and there was a guard present. However, we still fixed the damaged parts in the school because we had only loaded it onto the vehicle, and the wind was really strong.

This is the result of our hard work and effort because what we did was really big. It wasn't easy to do this because it required patience and perseverance. But it was all worth it because we received the highest grades among the three groups. We were so happy when we found out because we didn't expect such a result. The DIY Story Tower project was not just about building something physically, but also about learning the value of teamwork, creativity, and dedication. Despite the challenges we faced, like uneven materials and time constraints, we were able to push through and create something meaningful. It taught us the importance of planning, patience, and working together to achieve our goals. The process may have been difficult, but the result made it all worthwhile. Winning the highest grades was a pleasant surprise, and it proved that our hard work truly paid off. This experience will always remind us that with determination and collaboration, we can overcome any obstacle and achieve success.
