The Footprint I Will Leave Behind #205

Everyone has the potential to either make a lasting impact or be part of someone else's. In this week's contest, I'll be focusing on memorable moments and the footprints I hope to leave behind if I were at the end of my journey.
Happy new week to all the amazing women of Hive! I hope this week finds you in strength and love. If so, let’s keep the positive momentum going.
My Story
I want to share a bit about my life and the kind of footprint I aim to leave. Before I lost my dad, I always dreamed of living a fulfilling life, one where my dad took care of me and provided everything I needed. And for a while, that was my reality.
However, things changed when he passed away. I could no longer rely on him for the things I needed, and life took a different turn. Despite the challenges, I firmly believe that I don’t need to turn to illegal means to earn a living or achieve my goals.
The journey became tough, and I found myself considering ways to make my own money. I met people and saw girls younger than me driving expensive cars. Some of these girls attended my church, so I approached them, hoping they could show me how they achieved their success. But what I discovered was far from what I expected.
I started working in real estate, and we often held meetings in hotels. After one meeting, one of the girls told me to go to a specific hotel room. Foolishly, I thought it was related to a client deal. But when I entered the room, I found a man on the bed, inviting me to come to him. I was stunned; was this what my friend was doing for a living? I ran out immediately.
Now, I’m a married woman with two kids, and I'm doing well with my family. Seeing my friends and family emotionalize me with joy every moment. I know where I want to be I can still get there.
Sadly, the girls I knew back then didn’t have the same outcome. Two of them, who were involved in what they called “real estate,” are no longer free. Another was caught trafficking drugs in a country I won’t name. One more was arrested for selling human parts, and both of them are now locked up, with no hope of release. I was shocked when I heard the news.
Here’s the footprint I hope to leave behind:
1.Ladies, your financial prosperity is not in the hands of a man, but in your own hands.
This is the first legacy I want to pass on to encourage women to become financially independent, rather than relying on a man in exchange for pleasure and money. I wish my friend had never introduced me to that dangerous lifestyle.
2.Learn a Skill
The way you solve people's problems determines how much money you make, not how much short-term pleasure you get. If you learn a valuable, in-demand skill, you'll not only add value to yourself but also to the people around you.
I have two pieces of advice:
First, learn a skill that can set you up for success. Second, if I had the means, I would build a school where women could learn skills for free and become empowered by the end of the program. That would be the greatest legacy I could leave behind.
Thank you for reading my entry! Have a wonderful week ahead!
