3 year anniversary on HIVE! Wohoo!!

3 years today!!

Today we are celebrating 40 moons, lol, Or 3 years of being part of this amazing community. @pamarias and @alex-rourke have been working hard to produce our very best videos, interviews and blog posts to promote independent music from around the world.

Where it all started

As many musicians, creators and people in the music industry like @djlethalskillz, @lorenzopistolesi and @ravenmus1c , We were part of a blockchain music project called Musicoin which was intended to be something like what @emanateofficial is today: a music-streaming platform on it's own blockchain that would reward creators and curators in cryptocurrency.

The Musicoin project led us to discover Atom Collector Records...

which in turn brought us to what was called Spleen, or Shleem; can't remember. Then... HIVE was born. We decided to start writing and sharing live sessions, original music, music education and podcasts here on our very own, self-custody, decentralized, censorship resistant, monetized space! and we've been doing it for three years now and we've even got this snazzy cake badge to show off:

Who we are

We're just a couple of regular folks who met and fell in love in Costa Rica back in 2015. We were both working for a food production company in the region at the time. She was in logistics and I was in the project management office (PMO).

In 2018, @pamarias accepted a job offer as a project manager at a logistics software company in Guatemala City and I, @alex-rourke, quit my job as a corporate PM as well to start our little business.

This is how Recording Box was born.

It's self-funded, built and run by us two since the very beginning. Our very first space was not impressive at all.

It was just a little hole in the wall that we called our own. But with a lot of hard work and saving every penny that we could, we've managed to stay in business through this wild rollercoaster.

We've now moved into a new home and we're very excited to have made HIVE an important part of the studio.

We've tried our best to be consistent with posting, commenting and curating content to help our HIVE community grow. We've done our very best to power up for every #HPUD and we've never powered down yet! why? because we're here for the long-haul; committed and determined to grow with you!
