This species of wild sparrow lives on the outskirts of my city. You can hardly find them in the city, except in winter, when they can join a flock of house sparrows. Most often I see them on the coastline, along the city river. There are a lot of bushes growing there where they spend all their time.
It is not easy to distinguish them from the familiar urban house sparrow at first glance. This species has a brown cap on its head, as well as white cheeks with black spots. And unlike the house sparrow, this one does not have sexual dimorphism; the male and female look the same.
