Hope

Life can be really uncertain, and sometimes it feels like all we have is hope. We can plan for the future, but ultimately, we have to accept that nature controls many things in our lives.
My mother used to say, "Do your best and expect the worst" and "Blessed is she who expects nothing, for she will not be disappointed." These sayings remind me to stay positive, even when everything seems to be falling apart.
There were times when I felt completely lost and thought about giving up. But I realized that hope is essential. It gives us a reason to keep going, even on the toughest days. We can never know what tomorrow will bring, and sometimes good things come from unexpected moments.
I faced a really hard time when my wife had serious complications during childbirth. She needed surgery, and our baby was also in critical condition. The hospital bills were so high that I had to borrow money from loan sharks to save them.
As I struggled to pay off those loans, other problems piled up, and I lost my job as a lecturer because my friend couldn’t reach me in time. I had turned off my phone to escape the pressure from my creditors. When I heard about the job opportunity too late, I felt hopeless and thought about ending my life. But then I thought of my beautiful children. I knew that leaving them would only make their lives harder. I wanted to keep suffering for their sake and give them a chance at a better life.
My kids gave me hope. I believed that someday, things would improve for us. Today, my situation is much better, and I see new opportunities coming my way. I learned to stop struggling and overthinking, realizing that sometimes things change naturally without forcing them.
Always remember that hope should never be lost. Do your best, stay prepared for the worst, and if things don’t go as planned, it won't hit you as hard because you were already ready for it.
