"Move!"

"No."

"Move, or I make you!"

"No," Liam replies flattly. He has been waiting for the bartender to see him for 10 minutes and was not about to give up his spot to some neckless pickle wiener.

I am a rock, here I stand he chants in his mind expecting to find out what "make you," means shortly.

"uh hm, shhh! Ouch..." The pickle wiener exclaims as he pulls his fist back from an attempted sucker punch to Liam's ribs. It seems no one informed the ribs. They have been focusing quite hard on being rock, and since no one told them they can't. Well, Liam is not the one in pain now is he?

Liam looked at the guy flatly and asks, "Did I find out?" before sneaking a smile in; Then he turns back to eye the barman.

Waking up Sunday morning, Liam already feels the air of dread that the thought of Monday brings. Blowing it aside he replaces it with the fresh scent of flowers and cut grass. "Better, but my mouth will need a more hands-on approach." It was a pretty heavy evening, considering his baseline of zero drinks usually.

Stepping outside; Fresh and clean. Liam takes a stroll down to the market. It is not the best neighbourhood but if you have lived there all your life, you would never know.

The trick to surviving Liam always thought was to never be down-wind. As a little habit whenever he then saw someone a bit unsavoury, he would blow in their direction. The uncanny part he always thought about was how they would soon "blow with the wind" so to speak.

Now he did not consider himself a fool. So acknowledging that it is just a novel observation seemed the logically honest thing to do. Because he obviously isn't noticing the ones who don't move away nearly as much as he does the ones who do.

Happy with his reasoning and having checked himself, Liam starts to think of how good the fresh meat pies are going to be from the market.

Monday came around, as it does. "Urrgh," starts Liam's week as it always does and he gets up to head out to work. There is no getting fresh and clean for work mainly because he does not see why he should feel fresh just to go to something that stinks.

"Did you do this?" His boss says looming over Liam's desk. "Do what?" Liam asks wondering exactly how it is a person's face could look like it has been sucked into their skull.

Aside from that, he thought that it was getting quite hot. Then he started to list the reasons for being there. The list has gotten shorter than before; If only because he did not really care anymore.

"I quit," Liam says, interrupting the anomalies explanation of what "this" was. Getting up from his chair and grabbing his backpack then shoving his laptop in, he repeats: "Yeah, I quit." Then leaves the cold grip of his office.

Outside it would have been hard to distinguish the heat of the sun from the fire inside Liam, but the homeless guy Liam gave some money to and a pat on the shoulder then saying "Good man," would argue that jackets don't spontaneously have burnt hand prints on them.

Taking a deep breath and holding it for a bit, Liam distinctly thought, "Come what may."

Some say he imploded, but a logical mind would say "He went where the wind blew."
