Saturday Savers - Jan 18, 2025

Well, it's safe to say that January has so far been off to a slow start for my Hive-blogging. I got back from my Christmas holidays to find that half our product at work was entirely offline, and it took the better part of two weeks for us to get everything back up and running, which was more than a little stressful. As a result, I had less time for ttrpgs, gaming, and blogging than I'd like... But work has settled down now and that means I'll have a bit more time to enjoy my creative hobbies.

This last week added about 20 HP to the ol' hive power, which isn't much but isn't nothing so that's a start!

My goal this year is to double my current HP if not triple it. Currently I'm at 1862 HP, which means my base goal is to hit December with 3724 HP, and my "I did great" goal is to reach 5586 HP. Which would return me to about half what I was before I had to power down early 2024 to deal with some debt and such. So for my big goal that's a difference of 3,724 Hive. At current prices in CAD, that's about $2550 CAD, which means if I can manage to put about 200/month in for the rest of the year, I'll reach that goal even without relying on rewards.

That's a little bit annoying to do since we don't have a good on/off ramp for HIVE in Canada, so I'll eat some costs in taxes by having to buy some other coin on an exchange and then simpleswap it over... But it's theoretically doable. Trump's terrifs might make the cost of living up here dumber though so we will see if that extra bit of fiat every month is actually doable with everything else I'm also juggling.

Either way, it's a good goal I think. I hate being such low HP, and more than once I've been tempted to convert my HBD in savings over to HP, but I've been waffling on that.

Do you keep HBD? Do you prefer only HP? Sway me to convert! 😂 That 15% is tough to give up!
