The Heart of Community: Talyo's Story

Hey everyone!Hi,I'm Christian Obaner but you can call me Talyo or if you are feeling extra fancy Talyo the Great (Just kidding, of course! 😉) I am 23 years old and currently living in city of Naga,Cebu.Life's been a bit of a rollercoaster but I am here to share my journey with you.
Right now,I am a Grade 12 HUMSS student at Mainit National Junior and Senior High School. Yep,you read that right.My age might not match my grade level and there is a story behind that.See,life hasn't always been smooth sailing.I've had to pause my studies multiple times to help my family survive.It is not the path I look forward but it is the path I am on.And you know what? I am determined to make the most of it.Graduation is just around the corner in April and I am crossing my fingers for the chance to continue my education in college.Dreams don't have expiration dates,right?
My family,We are not your typical sitcom family.We don't have grand gestures of affection or fancy love languages but let me tell you,the love is there,strong and unwavering.My parents are both unemployed so we have to learned to be resourceful and resilient.Being the sixth child in our family I have seen firsthand the struggles and challenges of making ends meet.It is a unique dynamic, and while I won't delve into all the details,I can assure you that our bond is unbreakable.
In my purok or barangay,I'm known as Talyong Maasahan,Masipag,Marespeto.That translates to "Talyo,the reliable,hardworking and respectful.Whenever someone needs a hand they call my name. And honestly,I love it ☺️ Helping others is something I genuinely enjoy.I believe that kindness is a boomerang because what you give out comes back to you.It is like a simple philosophy but it is served me well.
When I have a moment to spare you all ll likely find me on the basketball court.Why basketball? Well,it is more than just a game to me.Basketball is more than just a game to me.It lets me let go of stress.It helps me think clearly.It pushes me to see how far I can go.It is exciting when things go well.I feel like I belong with my team.
I feel happy when I make a good shot.It gives me energy.And it keeps my body strong.Playing basketball makes me feel good in my mind and body.It is a fun way to stay healthy and connect with others.
Aside from that I love music, it helps me every day. which listening to music is also one of my remedy on my daily peace. I used to play and listening to music when I am at my hammock hanging on our tree which gives me extra relaxation while watching the clear and calm sky.
Yeah,even though I'm 23,I still love playing Mobile Legends.It is just a fun way to hang out with my cousins and buddies.We plan stuff out,work together and crack a lot of jokes.It is a good break from everything you know? Just a way to relax and let go.We like to see who's good but it is all in good fun.It is like these days it is how we keep in touch and stay friends even when we are not in the same place or same age.We just play and have a good time.
Then how did I get into this Hive thing? it is kind of funny.I was playing Mobile Legends with my friends @natss, @juliuswriters and @thetechexplorer.During the game,@thetechexplorer asked Ate Coleen @helianthus-chloe about posting something about an ice cream house.I was like What's that? I was curious that time so,I asked Ate Coleen what they were talking about.And that's when she told me about Hive.That is how it started.
She explained to me that Hive is a platform where you can share your thoughts,experiences,life stories and connect with others.I was intrigued that time.Since I've always wanted to improve my grammar and writing skills and Hive seemed like the perfect place to do just that.Plus,the idea that I can connect with people from all over the world.
Ate Coleen @helianthus-chloe agreed to help me get started and she arranged an orientation with Sir Intoy.bugoy. Sir intoy.bugoy explained everything to me Like all the parts of Hive,the different groups of people and how to make good posts.He also told me what to do and what not to do and how to talk to people here.
I learned that making friends and helping others is important on Hive.It is about being part of a team and doing good things.
I am excited to be a part of Hive and I believe that I can also contribute in several ways.First,I want to share my stories and experiences giving others a glimpse into my life in Naga also I want to improve my writing and communication skills and I am eager to learn from the different perspectives of other Hive users.
Second I also want to contribute to the community by engaging with other people's content and offering my support.I am also hoping to use my ability to give and help in the real world to do the same here in hive world to also help others and to support them.
I am here to be myself to learn,to grow and to connect with all of you.I know my life is not extraordinary but it is mine and I am proud of it.I am excited to see where this Hive journey takes me.
