Mount Isola is the biggest and best option for skiing and boarding in the Rusustsu Snow resort. Standing at 994 metres above sea level. The first thing your greeted with when you get off the Gonadal is the mountain top marker and a beautiful view of Mount Shiribstsu across the valley. It really makes you feel that your in a special place, Top of the world.
It was not a perfect blue bird sky day but there was still lots of great skiing to be had on the uncrowded well groomed trails.
Mount Isola is the peak on the left, we needed to access by getting to the top of East Mountain in the middle first, then skiing across.
No fresh power snow around but we could still find a little bit of fluffy snow between the trees.
@consciouscat was learning fast and getting better with every run down the mountain.
At the top of Mount Isola looking out the back we could just make out Lake Toba and the pacific ocean. I believe being so close to all this water makes these mountain that are not really that high get some of the worlds best snow falls.
The red marker indicates the resort boundary and the back country is unpatrolled and not maintained.
There was a wind farm in the next valley too.
Isola number 3 quad base station.
Isola number 4 quad base station, was not operation while we were there, maybe just not enough people.
Goodbye from Mount Yotei to the left and Mount Shiribestsu on the right and the Mount Isola Gonadal base station below.
