There are structures that need to be preserved for future generations to see them. In fact, the longer the number of years they have existed, the more historic they are. Then, more people will come to see them to refresh what yesterday's buildings look like.

My dear fellow Hivers, friends, and visitors to my blogs! In this article, I'll be showing you a structure that has already existed for more than a century, yet it is still usable, strong and historical.

One Heritage Building

It was just a few hours ago when I attended an orientation for the upcoming activities in the Department of Education SDO for the Elementary and Secondary Schools Science Fair both in public and private schools. Those activities are geared toward the Science Month Celebration and culmination. Different contests, events, mechanics, etc. were dished out. But that is not my main topic now. It's just the situation that leads to this article.

While I was listening to Ms. Charm, our EPS in Science, I took photos for documentation purposes. But, when I saw the first photo, I noticed something in the venue.

Have you noticed the windows? Although I've been here several times, it's only now that I have noticed clearly the beauty of this venue. Yes, it's true. It might be due to my mindset that everything around me can be a source of information for others when I started blogging- especially for those who don't have the time to visit here.

This is actually, the inside of Gabaldon Building, a building that was constructed in 1919. The historical background information is shown here which is mounted on the wall of the front lobby of the building.

This structure had undergone major repairs but its original design was preserved.

In fact, the flipping windows at the back side which are made of Capiz Shells, are still untouched or replaced.

There are some improvements done here like the flippable partitions to make four rooms to be used simultaneously with different groups by closing the partitions or for flexibility, thus making bigger plenary to accommodate for the bigger crowd.

This is used as the Division Learning Resource and Library.

Going outside, you can see that the flooring for this building is elevated for about three feet more or less from the ground.

Now, if you would like to visit this building, I'm sure that it would be a great experience to see for yourself this century-old school building.

That's all for today, friends. Thank you for reading this article. I hope I've shared something worth your time and for future visits to Bogo City, Cebu, Philippines.
