When I was a kid, the anime "Sawamura, The Champion", originally called "Kick No Oni (キックの鬼)", was one of my favorites; I liked watching the story of a young man recognized Karate champion who is defeated by a Thai boxing practitioner, which makes him give up that martial art and at the same time enter the world of Muay Thai to demonstrate how strong and great fighter he is; I can say that this was my introduction to this type of stories where the protagonist has the need to demonstrate his skills in combat and therefore must face powerful opponents and I bring in annotation to this classic anime because Netflix has produced other anime that shares the premise to that story which is attractive to me to see.

Cuando era niño, el anime "Sawamura, El Campeón", originalmente llamado "Kick No Oni (キックの鬼)", era de mis favoritos; me gustó ver la historia de un joven hombre reconocido campeón del Karate que es derrotado por un practicante del boxeo tailandés, lo cual le hace renunciar a ese arte marcial y a la vez entrar en el mundo del Muay Thai para demostrar lo fuerte y gran peleador que es; puedo decir que este fue mi introducción a este tipo de historias en donde el protagonista tiene la necesidad de demostrar sus habilidades en el combate y por eso deberá enfrentar a poderosos rivales y traigo en acotación a este ya clásico anime porque Netflix ha producido otros anime que comparte la premisa a esa historia lo cual se me hace atractivo para ver.
Netflix continues to grow its anime catalog which provides the public with different genres to enjoy, one of those genres is that of direct combat between two opponents, who by their skill, strength, determination and motives will show who is the strongest; I think this type of anime has been successful and that is why before the end of May "Garouden: The Way of the Lone Wolf" was released, an anime based on a series of novels and manga written by Baku Yumemakura from the mid 80's until 2010.

Netflix sigue haciendo crecer su catálogo en anime lo cual provee al público diferentes géneros para disfrutar, uno de esos géneros está el del combate directo entre dos contrincantes, quienes por su habilidad, fuerza, determinación y motivos demostraran quien es el más fuerte; creo que este tipo de anime ha sido exitoso y por eso antes de finalizar el mes de mayo se estrenó "Garouden: The Way of the Lone Wolf", anime basado en una serie de novelas y manga escritas por Baku Yumemakura desde mediados de los 80' hasta el 2010.
I have not had the opportunity to read either of the two manga that have been made of this story which seems to be focused from the point of view of the character "Bunshichi Tanba" that in the Netflix anime has participation, but with a slight protagonism, since this time the story focuses on "Jūzō Fujimaki" a practitioner of Takemiya Ryuu style who has been a fugitive for years for the murder of a man and for certain and extraordinary confrontations, caught the attention of powerful organizations that sponsor clandestine fighting events, that will turn Fujimaki into a victim of blackmail that will lead him to release his inner beast to survive in every fight.
The animation studio in giving life (in a manner of speaking) to these characters and their battles was "NAZ" who have worked previously with Netflix and that this time with the direction of Atsushi Ikariya, have created a wonderful world where this story unfolds; With this I say that the animation is the best, there is some use of realism in the exteriors which makes each landscape wonderful, whether where the colorful trees, the white of the snow or the gloomy of an abandoned amusement park is excellent to look at; I also highlight the design of the characters that possibly counteracts the real aspect mentioned above, but it is not annoying to see that these characters are exaggeratedly corpulent, as it is normal in these productions. The real highlight of the animation corresponds to the fight scenes which are great, they are extremely special, the capture of movements made by a martial artist and taken to the animation is a great success, it is very fluid and pleasant to watch, it is one of the maximum positive points of the anime.
El estudio de animación en dar vida (por así decirlo) a estos personajes y sus batallas fue "NAZ" quienes han trabajado en anterioridad con Netflix y que en esta oportunidad con la dirección de Atsushi Ikariya, han creado un mundo maravilloso en donde se desarrolla esta historia; con esto digo que la animación es de lo mejor, existe cierto uso de realismo en los exteriores lo cual hace maravilloso cada paisaje, sea en donde el colorido de los árboles, lo blanco de la nieve o lo tétrico de un parque de atracciones abandonado sea excelente a la vista; también resalto el diseño de los personajes que posiblemente contrarresta el aspecto real antes citado, pero no es molesto ver que estos personajes sean exageradamente corpulentos, ya que es algo normal en estas producciones. Lo verdaderamente resaltante de la animación corresponde a las escenas de las peleas lo cual son geniales, son sumamente especiales, la captura de movimientos realizados por un artista marcial y llevados a la animación es un gran acierto, se nota muy fluido y grato de ver, es uno de los puntos positivos máximos del anime.

No he tenido la oportunidad de leer ninguno de los dos mangas que se ha realizado de esta historia la cuál parece que se enfoca desde el punto de vista del personaje "Bunshichi Tanba" que en el anime de Netflix tiene participación, pero con un leve protagonismo, ya que en esta oportunidad la historia se enfoca en "Jūzō Fujimaki" un practicante del estilo Takemiya Ryuu que lleva años de fugitivo por el asesinato de un hombre y por ciertos y extraordinarios enfrentamientos, llamó la atención a organizaciones poderosas que patrocinan eventos de peleas clandestinos, eso convertirá a Fujimaki en una victima de un chantaje que lo llevará a liberar a su bestia interna para sobrevivir en cada combate.
This anime is simply made up of eight episodes; at first I was worried about it being so short, but then I thought that this was possibly the first half of the first season and that I would have to wait to see the conclusion of the anime or its first season, but the reality is that these eight episodes cover the origin of the situations that the characters must face and that in turn show a resolution; this can be considered as a bad thing because of the fast pace and the possible lack of development of the story, but I think that by focusing on the point of view of a man who doubts or fears about his ability to control his instinct as a fighter, it gives a certain touch of drama that makes this anime interesting; Fujimaki's character not only has to face strong opponents, he has to deal with inner demons that don't let him evolve into the great fighter he should be and I liked that a lot about the story which has a very good rhythm with a story that is linked to flashbacks, fights, and relevant conversations to understand the motives of each of the fighters.

Este anime está conformado simplemente por ocho episodios; primeramente me preocupó que sea tan corta, pero después pensé que posiblemente esta era la primera mitad de la primera temporada y que tendría que esperar para ver la conclusión del anime o de su primera temporada, pero la realidad es que estos ocho episodios abarcan el origen de las situaciones que deben enfrentar los personajes y que a su vez muestran una resolución; esto puede considerarse como algo malo por lo rápido y por el posible poco desarrollo de la historia, pero creo que al enfocarse en el punto de vista de un hombre que duda o teme sobre su habilidad de controlar su instinto como peleador, da cierto toque de drama que hace que este anime sea interesante; el personaje de Fujimaki no solo debe enfrentar a fuertes rivales, debe lidiar con demonios internos que no le dejan evolucionar al gran peleador que debe ser y eso me gustó mucho de la historia la cual tiene un ritmo muy bueno con un relato que va unido a flashbacks, a peleas, conversaciones relevantes para entender los motivos de cada uno de los peleadores.
Garouden was a great surprise, the few expectations I had were surpassed while watching each episode; this is a great production and Netflix's success that uses very well the reference to be based on a work, to make something of their own and leave the basis to know or see in this format, a story that has more than 40 years of story and has been in the world of entertainment in novels, manga and film, but I think this time they did a great job in the animation and in the story that enhances and gives prominence to a style of martial art and influence on many characters; I was fascinated with Fujimaki's story, the potential to delve into his past and how it can motivate him in the future to be a better fighter and that is why I will wait anxiously for the confirmation of one more season of this anime that I must say has the best musical themes both the intro and outro, performed by the Japanese band "AA=", believe me both songs are perfect; I hope you can give a chance to this anime that is the best I've seen this year.

Garouden fue una gran sorpresa, las pocas expectativas que tenía, fueron superadas mientras veía cada episodio; está es una gran producción y acierto de Netflix que usa muy bien lo referente a estar basado en una obra, para realizar algo propio y dejar las bases para poder conocer o ver en este formato, una historia que tiene más de 40 años de relato y que ha estado en el mundo del entretenimiento sea en novelas, mangas y película, pero creo que en esta oportunidad se hizo un gran trabajo en la animación y en el relato que realza y da protagonismo a un estilo de arte marcial y la influencia en muchos personajes; quedé fascinado con la historia de Fujimaki, del potencial para profundizar en su pasado y de como lo puede motivar en el futuro para ser mejor peleador y es por eso que esperaré con ansias la confirmación de una temporada más de este anime que debo decir que tiene los mejores temas musicales tanto del intro como del outro, interpretado por la banda japonesa "AA=", créanme que ambas canciones son perfectas; espero que puedan dar oportunidad a este anime que es de lo mejor que he visto en este año.
