RESEÑA: La Vida Invisible De Addie LaRue

Hoy traigo por acá una pequeña reseña de un libro que leí no hace mucho y que sin dudas tenía que hacerle una reseña. Espero les guste y sin más preámbulos aquí está.
La Vida Invisible de Addie LaRue de V. E. Schwab. Se publicó en octubre del 2020 y yo lo leí hace una semana aproximadamente.
El libro estaba entre mi lista de “Libros por leer” porque había visto muchas recomendaciones de personas sobre del libro, las reseñas son muy buenas y la sinopsis me llamaba mucho la atención.
La historia trata sobre una chica, Adeline LaRue, quien vive en un pueblo en la Francia del siglo XVIII. Addie era una chica de espíritu libre, lo que se llamaría una persona adelantada a su época, siempre con ganas de aprender y con una tenacidad por no seguir los patrones que dictaminaban la sociedad en aquella época. Es esto último lo que la lleva a cometer la acción que la condenó por siempre.
Por cuestiones de desespero Addie rezó a los dioses antiguos, pues no quería casarse y condenar el resto de su vida, pero cometió un error; al momento de llamar a los dioses ya era muy tarde y la noche había caído. Por esta razón, Addie hace un trato con la oscuridad y es así como su vida termina condenada al olvido por parte de cada persona que se cruce con ella, incluyendo su propia familia.
Desde el principio quedé atrapada con la perfecta (a mi parecer) capacidad de la autora de llevar al lector en la misma sintonía en la que se encuentra el personaje y los acontecimientos que van sucediendo a medida que se avanza. Además, aunque el libro no es tan corto, en ningún momento se vuelve tedioso, al contrario, te provoca un sentimiento de seguir leyendo y leyendo. Considero eso último muy importante, en especial porque en el momento en el que lo leí atravesaba lo que llaman “bloqueo de lector”.
No diría que esta historia es una de esas que son una montaña rusa de emociones, pero ciertamente en el proceso de lectura sufrí de muchas emociones que me transmitió la trama.
Cada detalle, cada escena, cada personaje, cada escena inesperada me dejaron encantada con el libro. Desde la verdadera vida de Adeline, hasta cada una después de su trato con la oscuridad me hicieron pensar y pensar en muchas cosas a medida que iba avanzando de página en página.
Hubo un personaje en especial que fue mi favorito, quizá porque fue al que más entendí, Henry. Es un chico inteligente, amoroso, que adora los libros, pero también se siente solo en un mundo lleno de personas, siente que no termina de encajar.
Lo que más me gusta de Henry es que su historia se puede ver de una manera más real, porque muchos vivimos como lo hace él en la historia, esperando encontrar el propósito de nosotros mismos y viviendo sin encontrarlo. En su caso si lo encontró, pero como la historia deja reflexionar, nada es para siempre, y su felicidad, su lugar seguro, su sentimiento de pertenecer fue efímero como todo lo demás.
En el libro está muy marcado el sentimiento que a todos nos embarga en menor o mayor grado: el temor a la muerte. Pero pude reflexionar que en esta historia es más que el miedo a la muerte, es el temor a no vivir como debemos o deberíamos, a no encontrar nunca nuestro centro; es el temor al tiempo y lo cruel y extremamente fugaz que es para todos. Pero incluso con ese miedo constante hay muchas cosas nuevas y efímeras, como todo lo demás, que valen la pena vivir en el tiempo fugaz.
En la sinopsis del libro hay dos frases que al principio cuando la leí no me llamó tanto la atención, pero apenas leí la última palabra de la última frase de la novela pensé en retrospectiva y tuvo demasiado sentido. Las frases son: Una vida que nadie recuerda. Una historia que nunca olvidarás.
La chica de las siete pecas, las siete estrellas en sus mejillas.
Aunque la trama trate sobre esa chica que nadie recuerda, la frase de la sinopsis no es herrada para nada, es una historia que no creo poder olvidar.
La Vida Invisible De Addie LaRue es el mejor libro (hasta ahora) que he leído en lo que va de año.

Today I bring here a little review of a book that I read not long ago and I definitely had to review it. I hope you like it and without further ado, here it is.
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab. It was published in October 2020 and I read it about a week ago.
The book was among my "Books to Read" list because I had seen many recommendations from people about the book, the reviews are very good and the synopsis really caught my attention.
The story is about a girl, Adeline LaRue, who lives in a village in 18th century France. Addie was a free spirited girl, what you would call a person ahead of her time, always eager to learn and with a tenacity for not following the patterns dictated by society at the time. It was the latter that led her to commit the action that condemned her forever.
Out of desperation Addie prayed to the ancient gods, because she did not want to marry and condemn the rest of her life, but she made a mistake; by the time she called the gods it was too late and night had fallen. For this reason, Addie makes a deal with the darkness and that is how her life ends up condemned to oblivion by every person who crosses her, including her own family.
From the very beginning I was gripped with the author's perfect (in my opinion) ability to bring the reader in the same tune in which the character finds herself and the events that are happening as it progresses. In addition, although the book is not so short, at no time does it become tedious to keep reading, on the contrary, it provokes a feeling to keep reading and reading. I consider the latter very important, especially because at the time I read it I was going through what they call "reader's block".
I wouldn't say that this story is one of those that are a roller coaster of emotions, but certainly in the reading process I suffered from many emotions that the plot transmitted to me.
Every detail, every scene, every character, every unexpected scene left me enchanted with the book. From Adeline's true life, to each one after her dealings with darkness made me think and ponder many things as I progressed from page to page.
There was one character in particular that was my favorite, perhaps because he was the one I understood the most, Henry. He's a smart, loving boy who loves books, but also feels alone in a world full of people, he feels like he doesn't quite fit in.
What I like most about Henry is that his story can be seen in a more real way, because many of us live as he does in the story, hoping to find the purpose of ourselves and living without finding it. In his case he did find it, but as the story leaves you to reflect, nothing is forever, and his happiness, his safe place, his feeling of belonging was ephemeral like everything else.
In the book is very marked the feeling that we all feel to a greater or lesser degree: the fear of death. But I could reflect that in this story it is more than the fear of death, it is the fear of not living as we should or should, of never finding our center; it is the fear of time and how cruel and extremely fleeting it is for everyone. But even with that constant fear there are many ephemeral things, like everything else, that are worth living in fleeting time.
In the synopsis of the book there are two sentences that at first when I read it didn't catch my attention so much, but as soon as I read the last word of the last sentence of the novel I thought back and it made too much sense. The sentences are: A life no one remembers. A story you'll never forget.
The girl with the seven freckles, the seven stars on her cheeks.
Even though the plot is about that girl no one remembers, the phrase in the synopsis isn't a horseshoe at all, it's a story I don't think I'll ever forget.
The Invisible Life Of Addie LaRue is the best book (so far) I've read so far this year.
