Otaku´s paradise/ Paraíso Otaku

Although I am not an Otaku, I do proudly say that I am a mom of one, and my pride goes beyond his fondness for anime and Japanese culture, but I must confess that I love it when he asks me to go to manga stores.

In Lanús, province of Buenos Aires, we got a shopping center that has 3 stores that are dedicated to the sale of manga and all kinds of merchandise related to his beloved anime. He who likes to be at home a lot, an outing like this cheers him up a lot, and it helps me to get him out of his confinement a little bit.

I'm just starting to get into this fascinating micro world, but I also enjoy the visits to the store, especially because I love the miniatures, and the anime figurines they have are so cool that I want to buy them all.

So while he's doing his thing, I get distracted looking at mugs, t-shirts, pencils, posters and whatever else they sell in the store. The most important thing is his happy face to be in a world that fascinates him.

His dream: to be able to travel to Japan someday. And coincidence or not, that was also my dream when I was 17 years old. I hope to be able to help him fulfill it at some point, and why not, make that trip together...

Aunque yo no soy Otaku, si digo orgullosamente que soy mamá de uno, y mi orgullo va más allá de su afición por los ánimes y la cultura japonesa, pero debo confesar que me encanta cuando me pide ir a las tiendas de manga.

En Lanús, provincia de Buenos Aires, (Argentina) conseguimos un centro comercial que tiene 3 tiendas que se dedican a la venta de manga y todo tipo de mercancía relacionada con sus amados ánime. Él a quien le gusta estar mucho en casa, una salida de estas lo anima mucho, y me sirve para sacarlo un poco de su encierro.

Yo apenas estoy empezando a entrar en ese micro mundo tan fascinante, pero también disfruto las visitas a la tienda, sobre todo porque me encantan las miniaturas, y las figuritas que tienen de los animes son tan geniales que me provoca comprarlas todas.

Así que mientras él está en lo suyo, yo me distraigo viendo tazas, franelas, lápices, poster y cuanta cosa venden en la tienda. Lo más importante, es su carita de felicidad al estar en un mundo que lo tiene fascinado.

Su sueño: poder viajar a Japón algún día. Y coincidencia o no, ese era también el mio a los 17 años. Espero poder ayudarlo a cumplirlo en algún momento, y por qué no, hacer ese viaje juntos...
