Pinky Healthy Christmas Is Here

I bought a load of poinsettias last year. I left a few pots for myself and the rest were for sale. In mid-December, a juncture happened in the family that I totally neglected my plants until late April. Many died, others I tried to revive. Only the main stem of the poinsettias were left. They seem toasted but I still hoped and kept watering them.

Few months later I see little sprouts on four pots. Three pots were of the common red variety and are struggling with the shoots. One seems more advanced, and it is the rare variety! Some sellers call it salmon, others call it marble. The color variegation looks more like salmon to me. How did it become marble? Either way, I am just so happy that one of the rare, and expensive, varieties survived!

The variegated leaves (yes, the colored "petals" are actually leaves) are just about 5 cm long. I believe they will be just in time for their full sizes by Christmas.

The first photo is one of the originals with the table and wall on the background. The rest are post-processed which I played around two photo editing apps: Eraser and PicsArt.

I used Eraser to remove the original background of the photos. From the results of Eraser, I load them up on PicsArt and did the fitting. The results look good so far.

PicsArt has been one of the photo editors that I use for a long time now. Though, it has been just for basic editing like cropping and adjusting resolution for project images. This time, I tried the Fit function with background options.

PicsArt allows plain colors, pre-defined images or user-defined images as background. I just picked from the pre-defined options. Only a few of the options blended well with the subject so I repeated them on different photos.

I am not a fan of post-processing photos unless it is for a project. With the results that I got now, I think it will become more often...
