Moon Illusion

The moon is fascinating. The more I take pictures of it, the more I am intrigued to know more about the moon. There’s not that much of it that I understood, thanks to myself for ignoring those astronomy classes back in the day. I never thought that I would be so fascinated with the solar system later in life and especially the moon. About two weeks ago while I went back to my apartement, I saw the moon looking orange-ish. Later I know, it’s not orange, but rather a yellow hue. According to NASA, the color appears because it is closer to the horizon. So, when it is low, it tends to compare to when it's high overhead. In the same article I referenced, there’s also an explanation why the moon looked bigger. So, just in case you want to know, it’s a good read.
The rain just stopped that time and the sky was a bit cloudy. But from the motorbike, I could see a full moon with a yellow-ish hue. Unfortunately, my viewing was limited with the clouds and also the skyscrapers on my way back. I excitedly called my mom, who also recently finds fascination with it. She said that from the balcony, it looks very clear, clearer than my place. She showed me via a video call and it was right there, very visible. I was jealous of her and I wanted to take a train right away just to catch the moon. As soon as I reached my apartment, I kept walking through the fields just to check if it’s visible. I had no luck until an hour passed.
After waiting for about an hour, the clouds finally moved away. The moon slowly became visible and I immediately grabbed my camera. Though it wasn’t a full moon anymore, I could see the yellow hue color of it. The moon illusion that keeps making me awestruck whenever I capture it. Now that I am back at my parent’s home, I can sit on the balcony and capture the moon a little bit closer plus I am bringing the tripod which definitely could help. So, wish me luck!
