The One Where Everyone Avoids the First: Target Practice

Recently, I've been incorporating Triage monsters into my builds. They are really strong as they can cover a lot of weakness. If you know what you are aiming to do, you would increase your rating easier and more efficient.
Target Practice rule of combat may not be for everyone and may be confusing at first but once you get a handle for it, it's not that hard to use for your advantage.

Lux Vega's value has skyrocketed for now and you can now acquire a max-level version of her for a whopping $163.98. While the price may seem steep at first glance, I believe she's an investment worth making due to her flexibility. It's not an exaggeration that if you ever had the chance to buy or obtain her, she's the only summoner you will need for your Splinterlands journey regardless of league you are in.

The Splinterlands rental market is currently in a big problem. With prices for top-tier summoners skyrocketing, it's unclear whether this surge is due to the Land's popularity or simply the return of players collecting glints. This makes the strong summoners very scarce and expensive to rent at the moment.

𝔓𝔥𝔬𝔱𝔬 𝔣𝔯𝔬𝔪 𝔪𝔶 𝔖𝔭𝔩𝔦𝔫𝔱𝔢𝔯𝔩𝔞𝔫𝔡𝔰 𝔞𝔠𝔠𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔱.
Even though Angelic Mandarin is only a rare monster, he's quite expensive. A level 4 costs you $0.59 while a max level costs you $2.85. While it sounds cheap, remember that you can't make a team with a single monster, let alone a range monster.

Renting on the other hand is a different tune. The cheapest would cost you only 0.10 DEC per day for a level 3 while a max level is around 2.04 DEC per day. This can be fairly cheap to rent regularly and is very good against mages if you are having problems with them.
💪 Stats | Lux Vega
Lux Vega is a Legendary summoner from the Chaos Legion Series.
Level 4 Legendary summoners allow the use of:
Level 4 Legendary monsters;
Level 6 Epic monsters;
Level 8 Rare monsters;
Level 10 Common monsters.
Lux Vega's main strength stems from her versatility and flexibiliy. Since she's a neutral summoner, she is not bound of the rotating banned elements each battle. This allows you to use her in nearly every battle except those restricted by certain rules of combat. With a max-level Lux Vega, your options expand significantly. You can now use max leveled monsters from your chosen Splinter during that battle except for monsters in Dragon Splinter.
+1 Armor. [Stat Modifier] [Positive Status] All friendly monsters has their Max Health reduced by 1, with a minimum of 1. Monsters with 1 Max Health before the effect applies are unaffected.
Armor is a game-changer in Splinterlands and one of the most potent stats out there other than health. When you add an extra layer of armor to a non-armored monster, it's essentially giving them a second life or a second health. For instance, a melee or range monster with 3 damage attacking a 1-armor, 1-health monster, that 3 damage attacking monster needs to hit twice in order to kill his target: once to remove the armor and again to reduce its health to zero.
+1 Health. [Stat Modifier] Positive Status] All friendly monsters has their Max Health increased by 1.
The ultimate objective in Splinterlands is to whittle down all of your opponent's health to 0 and having monsters with higher max health than your opponent's significantly increases your chances of winning.
+1 Speed. [Stat Modifier] [Positive Status] All friendly monsters has their Speed increased by 1.
In my opinion, Speed as a stat only becomes a valuable asset only when you're building a team centered around it. While it certainly helps in certain situations, the main problem with Speed is everything relies on chance. To make it easier to understood, even if your monster has 1 Speed and your opponent has 9 Speed, there's still a chance of your monster's attack hitting your opponent despite the clear difference in this stat.
💪 Stats | Angelic Mandarin
With high stats and amazing abilities, Angelic Mandarin is easily one of the top cards for Water Splinter. You can either use him as a blocker for Sneak due to his high health or a support for your other monsters like Wave Brood and his Taunt ability.
At level 4, Triage is unlocked. [Support] At the start of this monster's turn, restore the friendly monster's health, that is not on 1st position, by 1/3 of its max health. This ability will prioritize the monster with most damage to its health.
This is a really good ability as it directly contrast Tank Heal ability's limitation. Unlike Tank Heal, Triage can restore any single monster's health from your 2nd to last position monster with the highest damage. This makes it a really good defense against attacks other than the front or partner with monsters with Taunt ability.
At level 8, Silence is unlocked. [Stat Modifier] As long as this monster is alive, all opponent monsters has their magic damage reduced by 1, with a minimum of 1. Monsters with 1 magic damage before the effect applies are unaffected.
This is a simple ability. It reduces the opponent's magic damage by 1 with a minimum of 1. Good for countering mages.

🎯 Rules of Combat 🎯
𝔓𝔥𝔬𝔱𝔬 𝔣𝔯𝔬𝔪 𝔪𝔶 𝔖𝔭𝔩𝔦𝔫𝔱𝔢𝔯𝔩𝔞𝔫𝔡𝔰 𝔞𝔠𝔠𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔱.
44 Mana Cap. Total mana cost of all monsters must not exceed 44 mana.
Target Practice Rules of Combat Tips: You can counter this rule of combat by either using a monster with Taunt ability or using a non-melee secondary tank placed on 2nd position.
Up to Eleven Rules of Combat Tips: Amplify will increase some of the ability's damage such as damage from Thorns, Magic Reflect, Return Fire and Redemption abilities. Summoner Risqruel Drath, who can give Redemption ability to your monster, is a good example of a summoner to use in Up To Eleven rule of combat.
Silenced Summoners Rules of Combat Tips: Try to use summoners with low mana cost since that summoner will not activate its attack either way.

🔹 ᒪIᑎEᑌᑭ 🔹
Lux Vega: One of the strongest summoner in the game. Her defense is sought by many and will be very useful in this battle.
- Xenith Monk: I wanted a tank with Heal ability for self sustain. Since there's Target Practice rule of combat giving every non-melee monster the Snipe ability, I am confident that he would not be overwhelmed as long as your main tank has Heal ability.
- Djinn Oshannus: High speed against range damage and Void and Phase ability against magic damage. He's the perfect defense if your opponents are planning to abuse the Target Practice rule of combat.
- Nerissa Tridawn: In case my Xenith Monk dies, I need a substitute tank against opponent's Snipe. Her high health will be very useful in this aspect while her damage helps thin out the opponent's lineup.
- Magi of Chaos: Another high magic damage monster. Very suited for Target Practice's Snipe ability.
- Venari Wavesmith: He's both a candidate for Snipe having magic damage while also protecting my team with armor through Protect ability.
- Angelic Mandarin: Angelic Mandarin serves as blocker for possible Sneak while also assisting Djinn Oshannus or any Snipe target. He's a crucial component of this lineup
🔸 ᗪIᗪ YOᑌᖇ ᔕTᖇᗩTEGY ᗯOᖇKEᗪ? 🔸
Yes. Since Xenith Monk was receiving no other damage than from Arkemis the Bear, his Heal was able to delay his death by multiple rounds allowing my monsters to buy time to take down the opponent's main defense, Mycelic Slipspawn. After that, it's just an easy sailing with Djinn Oshannus blocking the magic damage while Angelic Mandarin restores any missing health he gets. Nerissa Tridawn covers as the secondary tank against Snipes when Djinn Oshannus finally needed to be the front line.

🔸 𝑫𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 Lux Vega and Angelic Mandarin in Target Practice Rules of Combat? 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒐𝒓 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒏𝒐𝒕? 🔸
Yes. Lux Vega's armor protects my team against Range Snipes. Angelic Mandarin, on the other hand, has Triage ability that can be very useful in a lot of situations. He can be used with a lot of combos though, most notably, with Wave Brood.
