Hi @pinmapple community! I am new to Hive so I’ve been spending my time exploring different communities, reading and engaging with posts and trying to learn about each so I have an idea of what (if any) I can contribute.
Since my family and I are heading to Japan soon, I got inspired to introduce myself here as a form of countdown/travel history.
Traveling has always been my top activity I love to do, tied with eating. As such, my ultimate dream is to get to eat and drink around the world. Ambitious, I know. But hey, when I dream, I dream BIG!
The place I currently reside in is a travel destination all on its own. I live with my family in Hawaii and we’ve been here for a little over 6 years so we’ve definitely made the most out of exploring our wonderful surroundings as best we can.

Did you know that Hawaii is the most geographically isolated place on earth?!?
Well, now you do. At least, that is what I’ve been told. This is good in the sense of getting to live in paradise, but not so good for travel and cost of goods. We call it, living on a rock. Hawaii is of course known for its gorgeous beaches, warm, swimmable waters, varied hiking trails with stunning views, and it’s hospitality. It also has pretty consistent temperatures year round and, being close to Asia and being in Pacific waters, it truly is a melting pot of cultures, traditions, and food.

Before you come to visit, ask a local about what are the best places to go to. There are unfortunately a ton of tourist traps here that don’t really show the island’s true beauty. The first time I visited, I had no idea what I was doing and had a very underwhelming experience. So, make sure you are informed, as with any travel destination, of the true treasures the place has to offer.
That’s it for now. Thank you for reading!
