馃尀 [Let's Play] My Time at Sandrock 馃尩 (cont.)

In my last My Time at Sandrock post, a rich business-man had come into town to see if Sandrock was worthy of investing in. So far he was disillusioned with what he'd seen in town, and now... PEOPLE WERE TURNING GREEN.
GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN.
Lily, Justice and Unsuur of the Civil Corps were on the case though. Equipped with new personal protective gear, they descended into the gaseous valley and tried to determine where the leak was coming from.
It didn't take long for them to find the cause of all of this green chaos.
Rats.
Mutated rats that had become humanoid over the years, much like the lizard people.
Under the instruction of their Queen, they were digging through the remains of this area trying to find a missing princess. The Queen accused Lily and her men of capturing the princess and hiding her from her, and set her hench-rats to attack!
Lily, Justice and Unsuur swiftly took down the beasts and the remainder, and their Queen, scurried away, screeching about retribution.
With the rats having disappeared for now, Lily could get to work on repairs. Though, with these rats around, only time would tell how long the repairs would actually hold up.
Just as she patched the last gaping hole, a great green mutant leapt out at them and tried to take on the trio.
Lily pwned it, of course. For she was The Magnificent Builder.
When the green dude died, he dropped a bottle of Green-O. Assuming that this strange concoction was part of the problem, they decided to take it back to town so the local scientist could check out the ingredients and attempt to make an... anti-gas.
The next day, the scientist called Lily to the lab and excitedly told her all about his discoveries.
He gave her plans for an air purification device, and some sort of gas-sucking vacuum-cleaner. It would remove it all. Sandrock would be fine.
Before heading back to the workshop to begin work on these new devices, Lily stopped by the barbershop. Pablo, the barber, had commissioned a couple of things and after being paid for her work she decided to return some of that money back to him in the form of his haircutting services.
He faded her hair to a different shade of blue, and no more did she have a long bangin' ponytail, but a couple of nice plaits and soft waves.
New year; new do!
Soon, armed with her new gas-sucking tool and a purifier atop the cliff, ready to help vanish all the poison, Lily got to work on gunk removal.
The tools the scientist had come up with worked flawlessly! Within a day, the green noxious gas was eradicated and if any more pools of gunk appeared, they'd easily be taken care of.
Crisis, averted.
Indeed, Mr. Musa was so pleased with the resolve of the townspeople and how they worked together to overcome yet another disaster that he decided to invest in Sandrock.
He was going to help fund a road to Portia, and also had keen ideas on making Sandrock a central hub of all the cities... after all, Sandrock was located right in the middle. If war were to happen again, it was a prime position for being of help to the alliance.
Knowing that Mr. Musa had an ulterior motive was disconcerting, but it didn't matter - their town was actively being improved and now had the backing of the richest man in the cities!
Lily jumped straight into her duties and started preparing the way for the new road. She had to clear some fallen buildings, tonnes of debris, and build a sturdy bridge across the chasm.
Musa wanted her to do it - he had seen her at work and only wanted the finest working for him. Lily was flattered that he considered her the finest builder in this town! Still, she had won Builder of the Year for a reason.
In order to build the bridge, she had to dive into her storage of materials.
She had been keeping things like this in storage for just a moment like this and was well-prepared to get the bridge up and running as soon as possible! Musa would be happy.
Next they had to start work on a tunnel through a mountain that would help connect to Portia. There was a little bit of backlash at the idea of using old world explosives to prepare this tunnel, but Lily and the architect finally got their way. With a boom! The start of the tunnel was ready.
Now they just needed to work on a drill to get the tunnel run through properly.
After all of that work, Lily went back to her workshop to find that she was nearly out of water! 馃槺
She required water to help run her many, many machines. She hadn't sent out the animals in a while, so she quickly got them on task to collect some water.
It was also a good time to upgrade her water tank so that it could hold MOAR WATER!
I also noticed that I could have 10 pets collecting water for me at one time, and I only had 6... obviously, I'm going to have to go monster catching to rectify this.
