Hardcore Minecraft 馃槺 ~ part two

A couple of days ago I started a new hardcore Minecraft playthrough!
When I finished that post, I stated that next on my To-Do List was to start gathering some obsidian for several portals. I want to teleport across long distances and there's no faster way than by a Nether Portal Transport System.
My reasoning for wanting to teleport around this early in my adventure? I want to find a nice, picturesque place to start building my empire.
Conveniently, right behind a nearby village, sat a pool of lava which I swiftly bucketed water over. My obsidian was ready!
I dug up enough obsidian for three portals, though I expect I'll only be needing enough for two.
Back in the day, 14 odd years ago when Minecraft had a lot less content, I used to generate obsidian with redstone... I remember sitting there for hours, placing redstone down, pouring water over it, retrieving water, then painstakingly digging up the super-slow obsidian all with an unenchanted pickaxe, since enchanting wasn't a thing back then.
I dug up enough to build a house! Took me all day. I was so proud.
Anyway!! That's not now. That was a lonnnngggg time ago. Now I'm simply digging up enough obsidian for portals. Maybe I'll be crazy enough to make an obsidian floor for a house another time but definitely not an entire house!
I made my portal and leapt inside!... Hoping that my portal led to a relatively safe place within the Nether.
And lo! I arrived in a red nether forest. There were no giant drops in my vicinity; just many trees.
It was an area easy enough to enclose nicely and keep safe from possible ghasts flying overhead.
Once it was all safe and sound, I started digging a super long tunnel. Very, very carefully of course. We all know my track record when it comes to hardcore deaths and their location being in the Nether.
My tunnel goes on for about 400 steps, which is about 3200 steps in the overworld. Hence the teleportation network!
I'll make another one at some point in another tunnel, and then beautify the Nether tunnels and add a minecart or something, assuming I live that long. But for the time being, it's time to hop through my new portal and see where it takes me!
And hope that it's not inside a rock like one other time I did this.
By some luck I don't warp out of the Nether and into a rock or deep beneath the ocean; instead, I warp 2 steps away from a villager's house! If I built that portal just one step back, I would've broken apart this poor villager's house.
Utilising the villager's bed, I make it day time and proceed to investigate the area.
The following screenshots are taken from around my landing point of the centre of the village.
Honestly, I think it does look suitable enough for my plans to start building.
Especially the last screenshot with the ocean right there. It might not be my favourite biome of dark oak trees and giant mushrooms and things, but I can imagine what my future city looks like in that location.
Now I get to deforest and terraform for a few hours. xD And slowly bring my belongings through my nether portals to my new house once its built. And tidy up the village my portal landed in so that it's worthy of hosting it.
