On Sunday, it being a sunny and quite warm day, we decided to cycle to Kannami and see the early cherry blossoms near Hatake Onsen, on the Kakizawa River.

If you're coming by train, there's a bus from Kannami Station on the JR line. But we came from nearby Mishima, and it only took about 45 minutes to cycle there along quiet roads.

Its not the most impressive of festivals, its a local event and, as such, is pretty quiet and pleasant. There are paths which run along both sides of the river, and run up to the surrounding hills. The cherry trees adorn both sides of the river and so we walked right up to both ends of the path and it took us about 45 minutes.

After the festival, we went to a hot spring in the nearby small collection of hotels / hotsprings in Hatake Onsen. It was a really nice morning.
