Lookers | A Mixed Media Art Project
11 comments
For my current mixed media art project, I just wanted to have fun, although perhaps a bit dark with the skull. It's a mixture of "thing" viewing the world through their lenses. I love the colors I infused beginning with the free background courtesy of my design program, Canva. Several pure fractals I designed in the advanced version of the fractal rendering program, Apophysis 7X, made it possible to extract underlying colors as a second layer behind the female image and the skull. I thought of the artist, Bosch, after inserting an enlarged eye on the black bird.
I enjoyed designing this project.
Below are my steps:
A unusual skull image I I retrieved from the stable diffusion program, StarryAI, adorned with flowers on its head resembled a sketch. I was pleased with the result from my text description.
StarryAI Text input:
"Black Leaves with black stems flowing in all directions. Tiny skulls with a wicked simile hang from each stem."
Style: Fantasy
StarryAI Result:
Other images I included were various objects, including a female, bird, an eye, and my fractals. I couldn't wait to see how the images blended together.

I then utilized Canva to blend the different type images. I leave with you my procedures which begin with a blank, white canvas. I then add layers of elements in accordance with my upgraded Annual Pro Membership that includes tools to remove backgrounds, resize, filter, duplicate, and reposition items as required. Perhaps of all the tools, the ability to remove backgrounds thereby creating transparencies of the images is crucial to the blending process.
I share with you my completed project:
Thanks for taking the time to view my post. I hope you like my mixed media art project.
