November Reads | Year of Yes

Hey, fellow bookworms! I've been on a reading slump for as long as i can remember. Don't get me wrong, I love reading but for some reason, be it life or work related, I can't seem to go back to my healthy reading habits. So for the month of November, i am determined to get back to reading. My goal is to finish at least one book this month.
Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes
If you're a fan of Greys Anatomy, How To Get Away With Murder, or Bridgerton, you surely know Shonda Rhimes, the brilliant writer behind these popular American series. Her book, Year of Yes, is a personal memoir taking into account a year of her life trying new things and saying yes to adventures and new experiences. This book is both humorous and relatable as she talked about her inner battles as an introvert and dealing with different types of people while simultaneously "laying tracks" (a.k.a scripts) for her various shows.
I chose this book as my November read since it's quite timely and relevant to me, personally. I've read the first quarter pages of this book during pandemic through my e-book collection and really enjoyed it. So I bought a physical copy this time knowing that this book is gonna be a good read.
Currently, i'm trying to read at least 20 pages a day so as not to overwhelm myself with all the information and narratives from the book. i also found this random postcard somewhere in our house and made it a bookmark. Sometimes, i use clothing garment tags as bookmarks.
"If you want crappy things to stop happening to you, then stop accepting crap and demand something more."
My dear hivers, this is your gentle reminder that you are worthy of better things in life. You just have to believe and stop accepting less than what you deserve.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
Love, Jane
