Hiya !
It's Father's Day in the USA, so happy Father's Day to you if you are a Father.
Last night I created this bold, happy piece of art. I'm am actually very pleased with it as you know I'm just learning to work with collage papers these last few months and as you may have seen, my skills are still a bit clunky.... to say the least. 😄
Even though I've shown you pieces of my journey, doesn't mean at all that I thought they were all "good", but they have been my practices as I aspire to be "good".... one day. This time, to me, it is quite a valid piece, as this type of art goes.
I'm going to over show some process photos for the next 7 photos. I tried to make an animation like I have been doing so it could go into one photo slot, but my programs weren't cooperating this morning and I gave up on that. Sorry for the overkill of photos...but there goes.
The base.....
I will say that all of this design is made of cutting and gluing collage papers that I have previously made and then a little pen squiggle work around some sections. Nearly the entire background is made from papers where I cleaned off my roller and blotted stencils WHILE I was making collage papers, so these were the "blotters & clean-off" that were just supposed to be helpers while I made the REAL paper designs. ha ha ... jokes on me, but I loved parts of the blotter papers and this time it worked out that they were the star.
Papers added in the center. Even the teal blue circles about the center blue/green strip were from collage paper where I used tea bag paper to blot. The paper nearly disappears so you only see the design that was on it, once you glue it on and it dries.
Black circles and numbers were not blotting paper, but collage papers I painted and stenciled on purpose and then cut up.
I had to add a little bit of black across the piece to help balance.
and a little more
AND.... just a little more. THERE! That should do it.
The pen squiggles were black too, so that helped pull bits of it together. A couple more numbers in the upper left corner and we're done !
I love these close ups. You can see all the different colors in all the pieces of painted paper. So many !!
For this piece, I did not add any additional paints, which I sometimes do. All the painting was done on the papers and the piece was put together by cutting, tearing and gluing those papers.
Loving on some of the details.
A B&W for the fun of it.
...and last.... one a little further back.
It's a happy thing.... yes?
I hope you are all doing well and that your hearts are happy.
Love you !
