Hi, WorkLife community! Has anyone here working at home? What does your home office look like? It's my first time posting in this community so I am sharing with you some photos of my previous work-from-home setup back in the Philippines.

I was rummaging my old photos on FB and once again, I found a private album of my previous work-from-home setup in Cebu. I used to own a desktop computer bought by my aunt when I started studying Information Technology in Cebu. While I was working in the office before, a friend of mine told me about Odesk now Upwork. I started working for her then the rest is history.

I quit my office job in 2010 and decided to focus on working online. I started at $1 per hour and I was able to save money. I invested a netbook for 10,000 pesos.

The photo above was my first work-from-home setup in the sala. I invested in a netbook but I actually upgraded our TV, from a Sharp TV to a Samsung LCD TV + home theatre for 25,000 pesos. I started buying stuff in 2011. And you can also see my pink bike which I bought for 3,500 pesos, a good investment for exercise.

Our sari-sari store was managed by my late parents and I also helped fill up the stocks when I received my salary. There was my printer, desktop PC, and my netbook.

I told my mother that I want my privacy when I do my job since the TV in the sala made me tempted to watch TV more than work. So here's the bedroom slash mini-office.

I loved to collect books about 'how to be rich' and 'investments' so I got these two books 'You Can Be Rich' and '8 Secrets of the truly rich' by Bo Sanchez. I left my books in Cebu. I covered it with plastic. I am wondering if I should ask my sister to send it to France or find an e-book.

The 'Work & Life in Balance' magazine, I got this when I joined a seminar at SM City Cebu or somewhere in Cebu. I was happy to receive this as I was inspired to have a work-life balance.

As you can see, I upgraded my table to a nice working office table for 3,500 pesos. I also bought an LED screen as an extension screen for my laptop that cost 5,000 pesos. That was expensive back then. I started to invest in my mini-office in 2011.

I started to decorate my mini-office with a photo frame with an ex. Hahaha! My graduation photo in high school and other cute stuff. I used a drafting board so that I could post some reminders in there and other used bondpapers to recycle for writing random stuff.

That's a nice-looking office table. I bought a rack for my magazines and books. I recycled boxes to put some other small things inside.

LOL, I just got my salary that time in 2011 and that was the money left in cash. So I kept that money with me.

I was 22 years old back then so in one year of freelancing full-time I was able to save money and invest in things that I need. The TV was for entertainment purposes only.
