Hello traveler, how are you? I hope you have a good day, It's been a while, I've been busy in the past days in the real world and this blog was in my draft section for almost a month I think it's long overdue for this blog not to be published.

Anyway, this time for our Travel story in #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 048, we will visit and discover what is inside the Sea Turtle Lagoon Resort of Tabogon Cebu, Philippines. Let's go!!!

Sea Turtle Lagoon Resort

A secluded and one of the underrated resorts on Cebu Island. It is suited in the Northern coastline of Cebu, which is developed at the top/side of the coral rock foundation by the sea. Its tropical vibe of structures, cottages, and hotels is so inviting and gives you the energy of the Summer Season that you dream of.

It has a 180-degree scenic view where you can see the beautiful horizon of the ocean, the sight of the azure calming sea, and the cool sea breeze.

A Short Recap,

This travel is also part of our side trip adventure in the Northern part of Cebu, Philippines. Together with @ybanezkim26 and @indayclara last July 29-30 2023. After the Hive Onboarding Orientation, we explore the municipality of Tabogon Cebu and stay for one night to visit the known places this municipality offers. After the Onboarding Orientation and visiting the Enchanted Banyan Spring, we headed directly to the resort (The Sea Turtle Lagoon Resort ). We planned to have a side trip to this place two weeks before our Onboarding Orientation and booked a room for the three of us. We chose a room with no air conditioning and that's one of our regrets (😅).

We expected the wind in this place to be strong since it's on the top of the cliff and faces the seaside but we were wrong, though theirs an electric fan inside the room it doesn't make us comfortable. (That's one of the learnings we have on this trip. Always pick a room where you can be comfortable)

With these lapses on our side 😅, we were still amazed and had a good time in the place, especially on the cliffside. The view was undeniably beautiful. You can check out below some of my favorite spots.

Day use starts at 7:00 a.m. and closes by 5:00 p.m. The Breakfast is served at 8:00 - 10:00 am, No bringing of food inside the villa. The extra bed is P 350 per head. Check-out is at 12:00 Noon. How about Food for Lunch and Dinner?

Inside the Resort they have a small canteen with an amazing overlooking view. But, if you're asking if they serve food for lunch and dinner. It's situational. Yes they can serve breakfast and in their menu list they have food for lunch and dinner but as we experience they can only serve this food if the guest of the resort is more than 15 pax. They only have an on-call chief who can cook for the guests.

If they only have a few guests just like the time we visited, they will not serve you lunch and dinner. You need to go out on the resort and travel for 5-10 minutes going to the town proper to find a fine restaurant for your meal. Honestly, it's another kind of hassle for the guest to go out. I hope they can give a solution on this one to make their guest more comfortable and hassle-free.

Ending the negative part of the resort because the enchanted beauty of this place shadows the minor lapses of the resort. The place is huge and undeniably incredible, peaceful and calm. Roaming around makes you energized for sure.

Escapetical Sea turtle

Aside from roaming around the resort, one thing we look forward to in this place is encountering the great warrior sea turtle of the ocean (This place is known for this activity). We do free diving on our first day afternoon and on the second day in the morning to face it personally in the ocean. but, I think the sea turtle crew was shy at that time. we swam and free-dived for 2 hours but we didn't see them.

Corals and fishes beneath this sea bed are definitely enchanted and beautiful. You must dive in and discover it. You can watch a video from @indayclara for our free diving at this place.

Funny on the part when we are about to go back to our villa and to have our breakfast, the sea turtle suddenly shows up and resurfaces. Me and Clara urged to go back in the water and directly swim where the sea turtle was resurfacing and sadly when we were at the location the sea turtle disappeared, we waited for 10-15 minutes just in case it resurfaced again but it didn't. We go home with little disappointment.

How to reach Sea Turtle Lagoon Resort

This resort is exactly located in Villanueva, Camoboan, Tabogon, Bogo City, Cebu. It is approximately 3 hours from Cebu City, If you wish to discover and experience this place, you may ride a bus from the North bus terminal going to the proper of Tabogon,

You can ride also via private car, they have a wide parking lot inside. Just follow your Waze/map to navigate you to the resort.

There are two ways to go to Tabogon, just ride a bus via the Borbon route. The fare is 200 pesos estimated. From there you will ride a Motorcycle/Habal-habal going to Sea Turtle Lagoon Resort. Motorcycle fare is 50 pesos only and it will take you 10 minutes from the proper going to the resort.

It's my first time in this place and my first time to do free diving together with these pro diver Clara and Kim. It was definitely fun and memorable though we failed to encounter the sea turtle in this place, our overall experience and travel were great.
