Food can be said to be any substance whether liquid or solid, taken into the body to give good health, energy and strength
It is really great and exciting to write about African food. I would say I prefer to the food of the western culture that is the intercontinental dishes.
Africa is an awesome region with great and diverse cultural heritage. Apart from it’s minerals and natural resources, Africa has really good food.
African dishes are prepared using the traditional cooking methods passed on from our fathers and the older generation. Actually as years come and go new recipes are introduced to make it more spicy and delicious. Intercontinental dishes are dishes made using cooking methods from other continents. Like I said before, if I were to choose between the two, I would go for African dishes because there are natural foods and they contain nutrients and are also medicinal which make them good for consumption and human health while intercontinental dishes are processed foods and more of chemicals are used to preserve them making them less natural. I do not condemn foreign foods, foreign foods are sure palatable, but I prefer eating African foods.
I am from Nigeria located at the western part of Nigeria. Nigeria is a region with plentiful vegetation, food, culture, vibrant colors and textures, and is abundant in variety .There are various ethnic groups in Nigeria. But there are three major ethnic groups in Nigeria which are Ibo, Hausa, Yoruba. These different ethnic groups have their different dishes. In Nigeria we have various delicacies like Efo riro known as the spinach soup, Jollof rice, Akara also known as beans cake, coconut rice, pounded yam and egusi, Amala and ewedu, tuwo shinkafa, etc.

But it’s the soups that are a staple in the world of Nigerian cuisine. In fact, soups are usually the dishes passed on from generation to generation. Among them are ofe nsala, ogbono soup, owerri soup, and egusi soup.
Now I’ll talk about my state their dishes. I am from Akwa Ibom State and we have various dishes here. Our dishes can be eaten at home, public gatherings and ceremonies.
In Akwa ibom state, we have a lot of dishes ranging from soups and portages. These dishes include Afang soup, Editan soup, Afia efere, Edikanikong, Afere etidod, Ekpangnkukwo, Otomboro, Ayan ekpang, Asa ewa, etc.
All these foods are made from natural substances and are so nutritious and if prepared well so delicious.
When you are in Nigeria, or any African country, do not forget to try any African food especially Nigerian dishes….smiles.
Thank you for your time on my blog.
Best regard
