My May on INLEO [Feedback]
Khal's dev team has been working to make the INLEO interface bug-free at the end of this month, asking for feedback on how the UI could improve and most importantly, for errors encountered. We do want 99% stability in the UI, don't we? That would give us a better user experience whenever we are logged on.
Generally, the user experience during the month was good (at least for me), except on two occasions when threading became nearly impossible and lasted more than half a day. The first was around the middle of the month (14 days ago when the UI kept leading to an error. I discovered later that day that using the Brave browser was the solution.
The second time was a few days ago when threads were not being indexed no matter what browser I used. Others had the same experience based on the comments I received on my feedback thread.
During those times, I just assumed that fixes were being made because most of us experienced similar issues. Thankfully, the UI is back working smoothly.
Drafts & Publishing UI
Like in April, I have not had any issues publishing long-form posts this May. Saving drafts was working too. I have not lost any drafts and hope never to experience it.
That said, there are a few feedback I would like to share regarding the publishing UI:
Previously, the embedded links added to long-form posts were usually messed up and when I left a feedback thread 16 days ago, Khal commented they were working on it. Guess what? They seem to have fixed it so thank you.😉
Having a word count on the drafts/publishing UI would be nice too. Some communities or tribes require a minimum number of words for long-form posts, so the word count is a necessary feature.
Since we can publish posts to different communities through the INLEO frontend, it would be great if there is a search field to easily find the community where we want to post, instead of scrolling and finding them among the long list of communities.
It would be nice to be able to choose the thumbnail photo for a post. This is very useful when a post has a lot of images in it. Sometimes, the UI displays the post divider as the thumbnail.
Be able to drag and drop photos when uploading. Currently, the UI allows uploading one image at a time but it would be a time saver when we can upload several at once when drafting our posts.
Post-scheduling currently doesn't work so I hope this will be available soon.
Summing Up
My experience with the UI during the month was good, thanks and my respect to the developers working behind the scenes. Salute!
I'm mostly on my computer for my Hive activities (posting, threading, engaging, curating, etc) using Brave, Carbon, Opera GX, or Chrome browsers. I switch between these browsers whenever I encounter difficulty accessing the UI. That is of course to check if they were browser-related issues or not.
So yes, most of my feedback on threads (and in this post) are based on my experiences using the bigger screen because I rarely use my smartphone.
Again, thank you :)
