A Drive & A Walk at the Suburbs

I didn't realize today is Wednesday until we came back home from a wee trip at my brother's new place. The house is still under construction and the builders are on extended Easter holiday, but I was curious to see how it is so when the husband said he was going to the place to borrow some scaffoldings, I asked him to wait for an hour because I wanted to go with him.

And so at around 11 in the morning, we hit the road on my bro's big truck. Passing by mountains and farmlands, we arrived at the place over an hour later and whilst the husband and the boys loaded the scaffoldings, I went on my way for a little walk.

The day is dry and the air dusty but there was much to see and I wouldn't wanna miss at least some of them so off I went walking. It was good that there were not many people around even in the farms. It was hot so maybe they're inside their homes.

The farmlands are green which is fascinating to see during the dry season. Carrots seem to be their main crops in that side of town and some had cabbages too. I believe they have enough source of water there so they can grow crops all year round.

It got a little windy so I decided to go back to the truck after some time and what a timing for they already finished loading up the stuff. It was mid-day when we left the place and these photos were taken along the way.

They were quite creative with what they did on those effigies. The husband thought they were real and waiting for a ride, lol! But perhaps they look creepy during the night.😅

I also love how they upcycled those used jeans and garden boots, utilizing them as planters. I wonder how long they will last though.

We also get past a church which I believe was newly constructed and yet to be finished but it's looking cool.

From there, we went downtown to purchase gravel and sand. We are having some works done around the house, hence the scaffoldings and these stuff.

On our way back, we bought sweet treats from our favorite fruit shop, mango flavored ice cream. We pulled over by the roadside and ate them before we drove home lest they'll melt.

And it's my niece's birthday today and we're cookin!
