Bad Batch Season 2 trailer: Review

My Star Wars fan brain is screaming right now because a trailer for Bad Batch Season 2 has come out!

I saw this yesterday and got really excited watching it every time I did so, which, I'll admit, was a lot.

Seeing Cody was a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. I think almost every Star Wars fan wants to know what happened to him after Order 66. We know nothing about his life after The Revenge of the Sith. Plus, as far as I know, he and Crosshair are working together, so that should be an interesting partnership.

Speaking of Crosshair, I was surprised we didn't see that much of him in the trailer. Maybe I missed something, but he was only in for 1-2 scenes. Being he was a main character in the first season, I have no idea why he didn't have much screentime.

When I saw the Wookie Jedi, I immediately knew it was Gungi. True, it has not been confirmed, but who else would it be? There aren't many Wookie Jedi walking around. I was hoping he would survive, and I'm glad he did! Personally, I didn't like the younglings episodes, but I did find some of the kids interesting and didn't want them to die. I hope we can see Katooni as well since she was probably the one with the most screentime out of the younglings. Plus, if she's introduced again, we might get to see Hondo as well. Hondo has been in both Clone Wars and Rebels. It only makes sense for him to appear in Bad Batch!

I don't know much about Delta Squad. But I swear that clone commando in the trailer was Scorch (look at 0:32-33). I looked up pictures and it looked like him.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's just some random clone commando. But I like to believe everything happens for a reason. And Scorch and this Commando looking alike seem like too big a coincidence.

I love the new looks for the Bad Batch. I think it symbolizes the group as they change from being loyal soldiers to rebels. Being this takes place sometime after Bad Batch season one, they probably are getting used to their new life now.

I'm glad Rex is going to appear again in the Bad Batch. He's one of my favorite characters in all of Star Wars, and I want to see more of him. I hope we get more scenes with Rex and Echo. The two have known each other for a long time now. With everything changing, the two need to have conversations and fight side by side again.

Speaking of Echo, he needs more screen time. I've said all this in my May the 4th post, but I'll say it again. Echo came back for a reason, so please, give him time to shine! I can also say the same for Tech. I feel Tech hasn't got much depth to him, at least compared to the other characters. We don't know what he's afraid of (like Wrecker's fear of heights), what his beliefs are (like Echo's strong belief in following orders), or even much about his relationship with his squad and others (like Crosshair or Hunter). Echo and Tech are my favorite members of the squad, but they need more depth and scenes dedicated to them that aren't just there for comedic purposes.

Finally, I'll say the one thing I was disappointed about. Wolffe didn't appear. Wolffe is the only other clone we know is alive and gets his chip out that we haven't seen yet in the Bad Batch. We saw Gregor and Rex, but he was nowhere to be seen. I have no idea why he hasn't appeared yet. Plus, I can see him having an interesting relationship with the squad. He and Hunter are both mature leaders who understand having to make tough calls. He and Tech both understand what it's like to be one of the only mature people on a ship. He and Echo have been through similar experiences (and for some reason, I don't believe they've met yet, which is strange). Even Wolffe and Crosshair I believe could have an interesting friendship (in fact, it could be one of the coolest friendships). And for some reason, I can see them becoming good friends. Plus, imagine Wolffe, Cody, and Crosshair teaming up. That would be a group no one would want to mess with.

Anyway, that's my review of the Bad Batch season 2 trailer. I'm really excited about everything that could happen. It comes out this fall, so be on the lookout!

Also, if you want, tell me your favorite Bad Batch member in the comments and why! And just because this scene was funny, here you go!
